A secure and safe dog exercise field in South Cave, East Yorkshire. A dog walking service is also available to people in South Cave and North Cave.

The Grandad of Happy Sniffers, a man who loved dogs with all his heart. He loved the outdoors with a passion and all it had to offer.

For approximately 60 years this man had owned so many dogs he could tell you stories about all of them. He loved that each dog had ‘something special’ about it. He adored Thing1&2 and they loved him!

Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Father in Law, Friend and a Gentleman.

John Howbridge sadly passed away peacefully on Friday 23rd August after a battle with Liver Cancer.

He was immensely proud of Happy Sniffers and what it can provide for our local community and the huge benefit it can provide for dogs. 🐕 🐶🐾

I’m sure he will be up there with a ball in his hand and about 20 dogs glad to see him!

Look at this magnificent bunch that visited the field at the weekend!! I think I’m a new fan of the Russian Terrier! From 8yrs old to 15 weeks. It was reported back that they are new fans of the field. Lovely news to receive! 🥰

Please be aware on Sunday 8.30-10.30am all main access roads to the field are closed in South Cave re 10k Run. Only way to the field is via North Cave/Everthorpe end (or you could walk/run to it!!)

Just a heads up folks…… due to a complaint by a local.

No classes teaching dogs how to behave well or train them in agility can be run from the field. (Ironic isn’t it!! - hey ho!)

Gatherings and ‘fun times’ only at the field please. Mind you it’s given me an idea…….!!!😘😘 Watch this space!!!

Sadly Happy Sniffers cannot hold any ‘Classes’ at the field. It’s not by choice - but a planning condition!!

After months of being covered in deep water and worrying about having to close to reseed it, look what’s happening without any help at all. 😃 How amazing is grass?!

It’s lovely being able to watch this ‘slow’ transformation from bare mud to green stuff at the bottom of the field.

Whilst I’m no David Attenborough or Monty Don, I do wonder at how it’s managed to survive!!!?? It’s like chin hair ladies……we know that ALWAYS comes back!!!!! 😜 😂🤯

If only the rest of the fields grass would stop growing so quickly.

HURRAH!! 🥳 🙌🏻🎊🍾Celebration time!!! Today is the first day in 4 months that this doesn’t even have a small puddle, not a drop of water 💦 anywhere to be seen. Thing1&2 are chuffed to bits……

Dear Lord that’s been a long time!! My thoughts go out to all the farmers in whatever way you work with land 🚜. It’s been awful.

Thank you all for your patience. I’ve enjoyed all the lovely photos of dogs and families thoroughly enjoying the ‘swimming pool’!!

I only ever received 1 complaint about it. 🤔😪 Ladies - brace yourself and enjoy this gem. Men - I hope you appreciate the oncoming sarcasm. Stay with me - it’s only a gentle ribbing! 😘😜

A gent was unhappy that ‘HALF the field was flooded’……..now we all know that some men like to ‘claim a few things are a bit bigger than they are’ so I felt it only right to point out it was approx the last 35m (not even a quarter!) at the bottom of the field and then only one side of that section…….and I had put it on social media and not hidden the fact!!

Half the field!?!?!? Hilarious!!

First cut! 🌱✂️. Always enjoy the first one as it signifies that spring is definitely coming. Secondly it means people can’t use the excuse of ‘I couldn’t find the dog poo’ !!!

Subtle signs! Now up on the field. Nuff said. 🐕‍🦺💩😂. It will be interesting to see if they make any difference because lord knows some people need telling!!! 😜.

Some signs may have had to be deleted as I was told they might have been a little to ‘direct and honest’!!! Spoil sports!!

To be frank - I’m fuming with rage and frustration. 🤬 🤯😤 One word….’Why’? Actually I’m using lots of other words ‘internally’ that aren’t printable!!!!

Why do you think it’s acceptable?
Why do you think because you pay you don’t have to pick it up?
Why do you pretend that you ‘didn’t see it’?
Why just because it was raining you think ‘I can’t be bothered’?

Why do you not see it affects a small local business?

Now - here’s the rub. I cleared the field at 8am yesterday. I know someone cleared the field by 1.30pm.

My first registered complaint was at 9.40am this morning before my own 11am appointment.

It was busy til 5pm yesterday as I’ve no doubt with the rain and it being bonfire night for most. It was used use from 7.30am this morning.

95% of what I have picked was evidently ‘bigger dogs’ - or if smaller dogs must have had bulging eyes and severe constipation!!!

Please for the love of god have some self respect. I have some absolutely wonderful customers that go above and beyond that pick up other dogs poo to keep the field tidy but they shouldn’t have to.

Rant over. 🤐
