Forever home needed

Currently in foster with a canine behaviourist, Buddy is a wonderful boy! 13 months old.

He came in after he became too much for his owner to manage alongside a young family. He is happy, enthusiastic, has boundless energy & is very trainable. He’s a blank slate at the moment but learning fast. Could Buddy be the right boy for your family?

Buddy needs someone who:
•is home most of the time
•understands adolescent dogs
•loves training
•would enjoy scent work of similar. Buddy needs a job
•doesn’t have young children or small dogs. •has a well fenced garden

If you think you could be Buddy’s forever family please get in touch. Training support & rescue back up provided. Homecheck will be carried out. Adoption fee applies.

I absolutely love my job as a canine behaviourist. Every day, I have the privilege of working with dogs and their owners to create harmonious and fulfilling relationships. Welcome to the side of social media where we learn how to live with our dogs, not control them.

As a canine behaviourist, I believe in understanding and respecting the natural instincts and behaviours of dogs. I strive to educate dog owners on how to communicate effectively with their furry companions, building trust and mutual respect.

Through positive reinforcement and patience, I help dogs and their owners navigate through challenges and build strong bonds based on love and understanding. It brings me immense joy to see the transformation in both the dogs and their owners as they learn to live in harmony.

In a world where control and dominance have often been the focus of dog training, I advocate for a different approach – one that emphasises cooperation, empathy, and partnership. By embracing this philosophy, we can create a world where dogs are valued for who they are, not just what they can do.

So, welcome to this journey of learning and growing alongside our canine friends. Together, we can create a world where dogs are truly our companions, not just our pets.

Considering the pros & cons of neutering or spaying?

Conventional spaying and neutering disturbs the natural hormone feedback mechanisms and can lead to life-altering health and behavioural issues and shortened lifespans in dogs.

Here is a very interesting read from Dr. Peter Dobias.

Discover how spaying or neutering your dog impacts their long-term health and well-being and what hormone-preserving alternatives are available for pet parents.

Don’t Hug the Dog! And other things kids need to know to stay safe…

🐾 Dog & child safety program being offered for free to local schools & groups 🐶

Camilla China, your local canine behaviourist, care farm owner, & mum of four, will be taking a break from the farm to teach something incredibly important for children everywhere.

With the help of I Speak Doggie, a program designed specifically for primary school-aged kids, Camilla, will bring fun and energy into educating some of the youngest members of our community about the right way to behave around dogs.

The aim of the program is to increase appropriate child-dog interactions in order to decrease the incidences of stress (for both kids and dogs) and the bites that can follow.

“The program is really entertaining for the children whilst teaching essential safety skills” says Camilla, “Plus, the children get to practice the right way to meet a dog which makes them feel more comfortable and empowered.”

I Speak Doggie represents a whole new take on dog safety. With 50% of children bitten by the time they are 12 years old, and 77% of all bites coming from the family or a friend’s dog, we know the importance of teaching kids how to behave safely around the dogs they spend time with.

I Speak Doggie is a simple, fun and interactive program that focuses on teaching kids how to stay safe around the dogs they know and love. It’s only 40 minutes long and uses a music video to get this important message across with lyrics that are so catchy kids (and teachers!) keep singing about dog safety long after the workshop is over.

The I SPEAK DOGGIE program is a win-win. Not only are we keeping our kids safe but we’re saving dogs by keeping them out of rescue too.

Camilla’s mission is to teach families and children everywhere how to live happily and safely with dogs.

⭕️ LARGE DOG OWNERS IMPORTANT INFO ⭕️

Even if you know your dog isn't an XL Bully its very important to check if your dog is classed as an XL Bully by the government. If you have Large dog with a muscular body and blocky head they could meet the criteria to be classed as an XL BULLY even if they are not . If you have a cross breed dog this could also be classed as an XL BULLY . A suspected XL Bully breed type does not need to fit the physical description perfectly. If your dog meets the minimum height measurements and a substantial number of these characteristics, it could be considered an XL Bully breed type. So if you have a tall muscular dog then check the criteria below to see if you need an exemption .

️⚠️From 1 February 2024 it will be a criminal offence to own an XL Bully dog in England and Wales unless your dog has a valid Certificate of Exemption. It costs £92.40 for an application to exempt a dog . ⚠️
