Evening Training Session with Lupin

🐺🌆 Here’s a clip of our evening training session in town with Lupin, a 17-month-old wolfdog.

To keep him safe, he's wearing a muzzle to prevent him from picking up any rubbish or dropped food.

Wolfdogs like Lupin are naturally shy and sensitive, so we use carefully planned, kind training methods to help him feel comfortable in new environments.

Lupin absolutely loves training! By sticking to well-practiced routines and protocols, we help him manage any anxiety he might feel in unfamiliar surroundings. It's all about building trust and confidence.

🌈💔 It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that our wonderful dog, Faelan, is no longer with us. After a brave battle with dementia and a neurological condition, it was time to say goodbye.

Faelan was so much more than just a pet; he was an incredible member of our family and a true hero in his own right. He loved our children & was always with us. He worked tirelessly with clients in our dog training business, was an ambassador for dog and child safety, visiting groups of children to promote awareness. He provided support to individuals with autism and brought joy to everyone he met. He also worked on the farm as a therapy dog supporting countless young people.

Most importantly, he was my constant companion, always there to offer love and comfort. Faelan, you have left paw prints on our hearts that will never fade.

It’s time for you to rest now sweet boy. Sleep tight, Faelan. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten. 🐾❤️

As the temperatures rise, it's important to keep our furry friends safe and comfortable during the hot summer days. Here are some tips to help your dogs beat the heat: 1. Hydration is key! Make sure your dog has access to fresh, cool water at all times. Consider adding ice cubes to their water bowl to keep it extra refreshing. 2. Limit outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day. Early morning or late evening walks are ideal to avoid the peak heat. 3. **Avoid walking your dog in the hottest part of the day.** The pavement can get very hot and burn your dog's paw pads. 4. Never leave your dog in a parked car, even for a short period of time. The inside of a car can quickly reach dangerous temperatures, even with the windows cracked. 5. Provide shady spots for your dog to relax in when outdoors. Consider setting up a canopy or umbrella to create a cool retreat. 6. Use dog-safe sunscreen on dogs with short or light-colored fur, especially on their ears and nose. 7. Be mindful of hot pavement, as it can burn your dog's paw pads. Opt for walks on grass or in shaded areas. 8. Consider giving your dog frozen treats or setting up a kiddie pool for them to splash around in to stay cool. Remember, our pets rely on us to keep them safe and comfortable in all kinds of weather.
