It's darker, its colder, and at some point it's going to get wetter! All this means more time inside for a lot of horses. Less space for free movement can result in tighter muscles.

Regular massage can help keep muscles supple, relax tight areas, reduce the risk of injury, increase flexibility and range of motion, increase proprioception and encourage mental relaxation.

Working well alongside physio, chiropractor and osteopathic treatments to offer an all over treatment and also target those compensatory issues.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR EQUINE MASSAGE APPOINTMENT.

*On booking I will ask whether your horse has been under veterinary care - if they have I will need to get your vets permission before treating. Regular maintenance massage no longer requires vet consent.

*Appointments take roughly 1hr 30 minutes.

*On arrival I'll ask about your horse, any areas you may be concerned about, the horses workload, farrier visits, general info so I can get an understanding of your horse.

*Static and dynamic assessment - I'll ask you to stand, walk and trot your horse so I can see how they move.

*The massage... The massage itself is roughly 1hr 15 to 1hr 20. I will cover the whole body, spending more time on problem areas if needed.

*Throughout the massage, and when I've finished, I'll discuss any findings with you and if suitable I'll suggest some exercises that may be beneficial to your horse.

GOOD MORNING!

Sorry for the radio silence but I've been focusing on recovery and Rehabilitation and I have discovered I'm the worst patient.. trying to do too much!

BUT! Recovery is going well and I am now going to start booking again from Monday 23rd September, so get in touch if you would like to book in.

Just a heads up, I may need a small break between horses at the moment rather than jumping from one to the next like I used to, just for the moment but I'll be back to full strength soon enough :-)

Can't wait to see you all.

Also new treatments will be coming soon!!

Pleased to say I have got another year with the IAAT.
Why do I register with them?
Being a member gives my customers extra confidence that I am qualified, have up to date insurance and that I have completed regular CPD (90 hrs over the last 2 years) to ensure my knowledge is current and I'm up to date with new technologies and techniques.
