Gorgeous little Nova was very pleased to see me this weekend (or just pleased that it was breakfast time!) 😻❤️
The beautiful Hattie 🐱
Hattie is a nervous and shy girl and likes to hide away when people visit. I always take my time with nervous cats and do things slowly. I let them come to me, rather than me going to them so that they don’t feel threatened
Within 2 visits Hatties confidence and trust had grown with me and she was having fusses and letting me brush her
Such a gorgeous girl, so soft natured and a pleasure to look after ❤
A very proud moment for me! My video was recently shared at the International Society for Feline Medicine event in Greece ❤️🌟
FREE NAIL CLIPS FOR CLIENTS 🐱
Milas owner asked if I would be able to trim her nails whilst I was looking after her. She is such a good girl and let me trim them whilst I was giving her a cuddle on the sofa 🥰
I am able to trim nails for free for clients that have a booking. If you don’t have a cat sitting booking but would like a mobile nail trim, this is £12
*Please note, I may only be able to clip claws with an owner holding depending on how your cat behaves. If they become stressed or difficult to hold then I may ask for you to visit your vets instead*
For the last day of Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month, I thought I would share with you a video I created to show the changes I have made in practice to achieve the Cat Friendly Clinic status 🐱
The Cat Friendly Clinic accreditation means the practice has reached a higher standard of cat care and that all staff have better understanding of cats needs. We have achieved the silver award which I am extremely proud of 🌟
I am really passionate about making our feline friends vet visits as positive and stress free as they can be wether they are coming just for a consultation or if they are staying with us for surgery 💛
Thank you to my wonderful friend / colleague for being my model and letting me borrow her beautiful
boy Eric, he was such a good boy 🥰
I recently looked after Mylo for the first time. Unfortunately she was a little stressed, anxious and displaying signs of aggression (out of character for her) because she didn’t feel comfortable with me being in her environment 🥺
To help Mylo relax, I did something called ‘slow blink’ to help reassure her that I wasn’t a threat
A slow blink is quite simply that, blinking slowly! This communicates to cats that you are not a threat and this video shows how well it can work 🌟
At the start of the video Mylo is staring intensely and her body language indicates she’s uncomfortable. However as I begin to slow blink at her, she also begins to slow blink back and you can see her visibly relaxing
Unfortunately cats are not always comfortable with me coming into their environment as I am a stranger to them. But I have an in-depth understanding of our feline friends so I am able to try different techniques to help them relax and feel at ease ❤️
I recently had the pleasure of looking after this gorgeous little lady. Josie was really shy and nervous when I first popped round to meet her and her owners. She was hiding from me and was really reluctant to let me touch her. But within 2 visits she had completely relaxed and was enjoying cuddles 🤍🥰
🖤MURPHY 🖤
I have looked after Murphy quite a few times and he can be a little reserved and nervous at first. But after a few days of my company he relaxes and lets me give him a fuss 🥰
It is so important to have patience with worried cats and it is extremely rewarding when they begin to trust you and feel safe in your company ❤️

🤍 Toys are a great way to keep cats entertained, particularly if they are indoors. They tend to prefer toys that are made from feathers as it replicates prey animals
🖤 Laser pens are great fun but only for short periods as it can become frustrating for them not being able to physically ‘catch’ the light
🤍 A great way to keep indoor cats entertained is by placing a suction bird feeder on the outside of a window
🖤 Tunnels and ball tracks can be really good fun!
🤍 Alternating toys is a great way to prevent them from becoming bored. Try switching them around every week, so their toys feel new to them
🖤 Scratching posts allow cats to exhibit natural behaviour. Each cat is different on what they like so try them with different options such as cardboard scratch boxes and posts that are tall enough for them to fully stretch out
🤍 Cat friendly plants such as cat mint and cat grass can provide them with great enrichment and entertainment!
Nova has the cutest meow 🥰🐱❤️
I love it when your cats are pleased to see me (or maybe they’re just pleased it’s feeding time!)

🖤I will send daily updates including photos and videos
🖤And the most important one....FUSS AND CUDDLES (my favourite part) 😻
