*** FOR ADOPTION *** INDOOR KITTENS ***

We are looking for an experienced adopter for our kittens Shannon and Sangria. The girls came to us mid September with their feral mums just after they were born.
Shannon (tabby) is a little skittish and she needs someone who knows how to handle her. She’s only a baby and she will be fine, but when she came into our care we had to use eye drops on her, and now she’s a bit weary of humans due to this association. We are currently teaching her how to be cuddly and she’s doing really well, but she is the reason why she needs a confident adopter.
Sangria (ginger) is a bulletproof, very easy, well socialised, gentle and happy girl, who approaches everyone with an open heart. She loves cuddles, she is purring non stop and she’s a lap cat.
The girls are not sisters, they are cousins, maybe step-sisters. Their mums Cassie and Dora were living in someone’s garden and they got pregnant at the same time. The kittens were together since birth and they are very bonded.

The girls have been raised having full access to the house. They are perfectly healthy and they are on the highest quality food (Katkin, PurrForm, Animonda, Mac’s etc) to ensure healthy development. We are looking for an adopter who will continue the high standard of care.

We are an INDOOR cat rescue and we are looking for indoor homes for our cats, with windows, balcony/garden secured with cat proof netting/catio etc.

Our cats are being offered for adoption:
-fully vaccinated including leukaemia vaccine
-microchipped
-neutered
-flea and worm treated with veterinary grade products
-they come with 4 weeks insurance policy
-they are negative on FIV/FeLV viruses

The adopter needs to be knowledgeable in:
-species appropriate diet
-behavioural and environmental needs of a cat
-have an idea of veterinary cost.

If you are renting, you need to have a written permission from your landlord that you are allowed to keep the cat at their property.

Pre adoption house check and adoption fee applies.

Should you be interested in adopting from us, please fill up our adoption form, paying particular attention to the BRANDS of food you intend to feed the cat and to the information on HOW is the property prepared for an indoor cat:

https://bushytailcataid.com/cat-adoption-questionnaire/

Shannon and Sangria are being fostered in Bushey and the adopter will be able to meet them and to spend time with them prior to the adoption.

Please only contact us if you are ready to adopt within up to 14 days. Please note that we are aware that female ginger kittens generate high interest, but we are unable to separate the girls as we need to prioritise their welfare and their needs. Due to Shannon being skittish, they are not suitable for a home with children or dogs. They are absolutely fine with other cats and they make friends easily. They are currently being fostered with cats of all ages and they can respect their boundaries.

Thank you!

Cassie yesterday. A small improvement now that she’s comfortable enough to eat the food with an antibiotic hidden in it. Still feral but she stopped running for dear life when seeing a human, so there is small progress.

Cassandra. It’s not easy to medicate a feral cat, and her breathing has been pretty much like this for a few weeks. We can’t vaccinate her either, because she’s on a course of antibiotics.

***Shannon*** an indoor kitten.
Little troublemaker, a skittish monkey that needs to be grabbed in order to kiss and cuddle her! She’s hard work, but we are ensuring she’s adoptable, as being friendly is pretty much her only chance to have a happy future.
Shannon is going to be neutered next week and she’s pretty much ready to go to her forever home, depending on the experience of the adopter.
We don’t rehome kittens to single cat households, but she can be adopted with another kitten from us or as an additional kitten to an existing young cat at home.
She’s harmless and she doesn’t bite, we just had to do eye drops on her a month ago and now she doesn’t like us. 🙈

*** ADOPTED ***
🐈‍⬛ Pandora 🐈‍⬛
Gorgeous, fluffy girl, under one year old, and sadly feral. She is spending winter with us, where it’s always warm and safe. It will take months for Dora to be comfortable around humans, but she does have a full reign of the house. She is slowly learning to trust us and she’s great with the other cats in our care.

Pandora has been neutered, microchipped, flea and worm treated with veterinary grade products and we’ve had blood test done for her on FIV and leukaemia viruses (she’s negative on both). She just needs to be vaccinated, but we haven’t got the funds to cover this right now.

Pandora came to us with her gorgeous sister Cassandra and they can be adopted together or separately. They are both hard work and they need an experienced adopter. They were born in someone’s garden but the lady just fed them all, without taming them or neutering them, and the consequences of this are: unadoptable little lives plus the feral kittens that they gave birth to. Months of volunteers time and thousands of pounds in cost-standard for these scenarios.

Pandora and all of our cats are being fostered in Bushey (Watford) and they are available for adoption to an indoor home.

***ADOPTED***INDOOR KITTENS***

These brothers have spent their entire lives in their foster home. At some point we were so disheartened with the fruitless search for a home for them that we attempted to rehome them separately. But… we live with them and we see how bonded they are. They find each other everywhere and they always sleep together. It’s just not an option to break this bond, because it will break their hearts.

They are happy, gentle, healthy and perfect boys and we are astounded how incredibly ignorant some people are contacting us about adopting our feral ginger or bengal looking cats at the same time expecting a lap cat, but these boys are invisible. And they are the very definition of perfection. The environment they grew up in taught them that humans equals cuddles and kisses and their human-cat bond is a fundamental factor in how they go about life. Our older, resident cats taught them boundaries. They were taught to not to scratch or bite in their natural habitat learning feline behaviour from other felines. This is what makes them ideal pets. This, and not their fur colour!

Here’s the information about the pair:

Dario and Iggy are brothers, born on 28/03/24. They were raised with their mum in home environment, with full access to the house. They are well socialised, gentle and happy kids, who approach everyone with an open heart, ready to play. They have grown up on the highest quality food (Katkin, PurrForm, Animonda, Mac’s etc) to ensure their healthy development. They are under private veterinary care. We are looking for an adopter who will continue the high standard of care for these kittens.

We are an INDOOR cat rescue and we are looking for indoor homes for our cats, with windows, balcony/garden SECURED with cat proof netting/catio etc.

Our cats are being offered for adoption:

PS. Please note that we cannot respond to every single message, this is a voluntary based rescue and unfortunately we do not have paid staff to personally address each individual person.

Cassie (ginger), Dora (black) and the little tabby Shannon awaiting breakfast this morning!
The big girls are feral, and the kitten is skittish, but we are working on them and they will be fine. Shannon is generally fine but because we had to do eye drops on her, she is now weary of us and we need to grab her for cuddles and smooches. We will be booking neutering for her next week and she will be available for adoption mid January. Cassandra and Pandora are available now, but these two will take months to gain trust.

*** INDOOR KITTENS ***

Shannon, (the sister of little Dublin, who passed away two months ago) is going to be available for adoption early January, once she’s been neutered. She needs to be adopted in pair with any of our other kittens.

As with all of our cats, we are looking for an indoor home for her and the adopter will need to have the property prepared for an indoor cat, so she wouldn’t fly out of the window, and we also ask that the future cat parent is knowledgeable on feline diet (recognising the difference between garbage 4% meat „food” and species approaching meat content diet is very important for us).

Shannon will go to her new home: fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, flea and worm treated with veterinary grade products. She is FIV/FeLV negative, she comes with full veterinary history and 4 weeks pet insurance.

Shannon and all of our kittens are being fostered in Bushey (Watford) and the adopter will have a chance to meet the gang before adopting them.

If you are interested in adopting TWO indoor kittens from us, please fill out the form:

*** INDOOR KITTENS ***
We managed to get Sangria, our ginger female kitten, neutered just before Christmas, and she’s recovering well. She can now be adopted to an INDOOR home and in pair with one of our other kittens. She’s made friends with pretty much everyone as she’s a social butterfly and a little lovebug, and the cats adore her.
Shannon, who came to us with Sangria is just about ready to be neutered too, so we are trying to get the slot for her in the next few days (tricky with Christmas time). Shannon is shy and skittish, but she’s friendly-it’s just that we had to do eye drops on her for ages, which made her associate humans with poking her eyes.

If you are interested in adopting Sangria plus one more kitten (Dario, Iggy, or even the semi feral ones like Vivian or Veronique), please FILL UP the adoption application form. We are unable to respond to countless „is she available/can I have more details” messages, we can only respond to the information provided by yourselves. The key points for us is: HOW is the property secured for indoor cats and what TYPE of food are you planning to feed the cats.

The details from our end are:
All our cats are fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, FIV/FeLV negative, flea and worm treated with veterinary grade products, they come with veterinary history and 4 weeks free pet insurance.

Our rescue is based in Bushey (Watford) and the adopter will have a chance to meet the cats and spend time with them.

Right now we are looking to find a home for Sangria plus one kitten in the coming days, ideally this year. Please remember that ginger female kittens are highly popular and we won’t be able to respond to every single person who gets in touch.

Our adoption application form is available here:

A couple of people have messaged us to say that the Amazon link might be causing issues, so a little reminder that we have a fundraiser going, and even a fiver sent our way really does make a difference. We do, however, understand that this is a very expensive time of the year, so please, don’t feel obligated, it’s just a thought! Everyone is healthy and we are all in good spirits! 😻🎄🐈‍⬛⭐️

Iʼm raising money to help with covering the cost of cat care in winter. Support this JustGiving Crowdfunding Page.

🎄❤️🐈‍⬛ MERRY CHRISTMAS! 🐈‍⬛❤️🎄
Thank you all for being with us, thank you for your support and generosity!
Special thank you to those, who remembered about us this Christmas and sent kitty food and donations our way. It means a lot, especially that we didn’t post any appeal and barely asked for anything this whole year.

Our Amazon wish list link is attached below. If you’d like to buy Christmas dinner to our rescue kitties, there are a few inexpensive options that hopefully would be affordable. They would certainly be huge help with 26 feline mouths to feed.

Best wishes to you all! ❤️🎁🐈‍⬛

***FOR ADOPTION***AN INDOOR KITTEN***

Iggy (born on 28/03/24) is looking for an indoor home as an additional kitten to an existing young cat at home. He is currently being fostered with his brother Dario and they can be adopted together. Iggy is very social and he loves company of cats, so he cannot live as an only cat at home. He would not be suitable as a match for elderly cats either as he needs a playmate and someone to cuddle up next to when napping. Hes a perfect, gentle and healthy boy with a heart full of love to give. He’s a lap cat and he has high tolerance, he’s confident, playful and he makes friends easily. He was raised with his mum and siblings at home environment, with full access to the house. He is well socialised, gentle and happy kid, who approaches everyone with an open heart. Curious, inquisitive and ready to play.

Iggy has been raised on the highest quality food (Katkin, PurrForm, Animonda, Mac’s etc) to ensure healthy development. We are looking for an adopter who will continue the high standard of care.

New arrival from last week: Mowgli. Absolutely adorable and cuddly little boy, who had a loving and caring home, but unfortunately his kitten energy didn’t go well with the elderly resident cat, so his owners had to make a heartbreaking decision of finding a home for him.

Mowgli is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated and flea and worm treated with veterinary grade products. He comes with full veterinary history. And THIS is what responsible cat owner should ALWAYS do. Rescues are overwhelmed with sad stories from people who due to personal circumstances are unable to keep their cats. And somehow they are very quiet on one crucial information: oh, by the way, we are „gifting” our cat to you, but you will also need to cover the cost of all veterinary bills and all the undetected medical conditions. No, that’s dumping a cat and getting rid of the responsibility, and trying to justify these decisions with crocodile tears. Circumstances can and do change. But not providing even basic care is not right. In this care, Mogwli’s family did everything they could for this little boy and also for their older cat, who deserves to live in peace in his own home.

Welcome, Mogwli! We promise to find you a wonderful family!

Do you remember Tessa, a kitty dumped at Tesco car park in Neasden?
She’s doing really well and we finally managed to get the first of the two vaccinations for her! She’s been on a course of veterinary prescribed antibiotics and eye drops last month, so we couldn’t do much, but she’s doing well now. She’s eating for an army and she nearly doubled her weight from 2,6 kg when she been neutered to 4 kg! Sounds like a bit of diet need to be put in place!
Best news ever though is that Tessa has found a wonderful home with a family who is already in love with her!

After a week of surviving on scraps and hiding away from danger of a huge car park, this brave and very sensible girl has landed on her paws! We couldn’t be happier for her! 😻

***NOW AT NAWT WARFORD***

We’ve been asked to help mum and kittens born in the bushes in Islington, this was months ago, and we couldn’t help as we have no room even for the thousands of cats in our own area. The kind people who spotted the family stepped in and took them all into their home. They’ve tried and tried to find rescue spaces for months, with absolutely zero luck. And that’s because the situation truly is hopeless. They’ve been successful in one important thing though: they’ve managed to get all 5 cats neutered and microchipped.

What’s next? We’ve remained in touch for weeks and we thought that we could at least help these kind people with finding good homes for this family. The kittens are in Islington and they are not currently vaccinated, but that’s a minor issue that can be sorted. Their mum has been adopted.

The kittens are available for adoption to either indoor homes or homes with access to the garden. They are veterinary health checked and they will come with veterinary history and 4 weeks free pet insurance. A small donation of £30 applies, and the adopter will need to commit to vaccinating them.

If you are interested in adopting any of these kitties, please fill up our adoption application form and we will get back to you.

https://bushytailcataid.com/cat-adoption-questionnaire/

Description of the cats:

“Gigio (boy): he’s very cuddly, loves to be around you all the time, and is really playful.

Jack (girl): she is on the shy side, but just as playful as Gigio, and likes to receive scratches. She’s bonded to Gigio and would like to stay with him if possible.

Zorro (male): he’s almost as brave as Gigio, and definitely just as playful.

Mimi (girl): she’s been a tough nut to crack and still needs more work. She will take food from your hand but doesn’t like to get any closer.”

Pre adoption house check applies. Please only contact us if you are ready to adopt before Christmas.

Thank you!
