Jake has been living in the garden of a kind lady for months. He’s very friendly and he definitely did have a home at some point. She did her absolute best to get help, from checking if he’s microchipped to advertising him on social media, next door and on paper posters. All this has been done while she’s been trying to get rescue space for him at any charity in a hundred mile radius, happy to drive him to wherever he could be helped.
Two months later, mindful of the fact that he is NOT NEUTERED, therefore he’s creating more problems by producing kittens, we helped, despite of not being local, not having the space for him and not having the funds to pay. We asked the lady to approach the national charity who has neutering the strays as their number one principle, but they declined to pay the vets for the neutering procedure of the stray.
This is the sort of situation we have to deal with non stop, and the problem is constantly being pushed onto individuals.
Long story short, we went half with costs with Animal Support Angels and had Jake neutered, microchipped, FIV/FeLV blood tested and flea and worm treated with veterinary grade products. He’s now back on the street, or to be precise, he’s living in his feeder’s shed. We will take him on, but right now he stinks incredibly and he will stink like this for another two weeks, because that’s the case when cats are not being neutered (that’s an ignorant and backward owner scenario, and these people are always scum). Not that we even have the space, but I can’t have him running around my living room like this-simple as that.
Meanwhile:
We are looking for a home for Jake with access to the garden.
Jake is 3 years old, he’s very cute, he’s healthy and he will come with 4 weeks pet insurance and veterinary history. We will vaccinate him prior to the adoption. He is a lovely and friendly cat, he doesn’t bite and he’s good with other cats.
Pre adoption house check and adoption fee applies. The adopter will have an opportunity to meet Jake here in Bushey (Watford) prior to the adoption.
If you are interested in offering Jake a home, please fill up our adoption application form:
