Happy Bath Day!

I’ve only just found out that today is International Bath Day - woo hoo! (thank you Amber!)

This weather may be rubbish but it does make me more likely to have a nice hot bath. Maybe with some Foaming Bath Sprinkles? 🤔😉😁

Calling all Sugar Drops Sprinkles / Bathbomb Lovers!

Did you see that there’s matching soap on the website? It was discontinued* a few years back but earlier this year I committed to making a small batch for the die-hard fans and now there are just 12 bars left.

The scent is reminiscent of Aquolina’s Pink Sugar fragrance, and is described as sweet caramel, vanilla, candy floss, lemon drops and brown sugar.

*So, why was it discontinued? Honestly, I think it’s because the colours don’t really properly reflect the fragrance. Any fragrance that’s heavy on the vanilla will discolour soap to brown - dark brown - and there’s just no getting around it. In these bars I’ve loaded the fragrance in the black and brown coloured portions so that the pink and white remain the colour they’re meant to be. And they smell SOOO good!

Limited Edition Honeysuckle Soap

Did you that floral fragrances are some of the hardest fragrances for soapmakers to use? Some have a tendency to thicken up the soap batter REALLY quickly, sometimes even the point of turning it solid in the mixing bowl before you can even think of adding colour, never mind pour it into the mould.

This is why I refused to make a Honeysuckle soap for a long time. But it was a regular request and this year I relented. And while it smells extraordinarily good, it seriously tested my soapmaking skills and I’m unlikely to make it again for quite some time 😅

What’s new? THESE are new! 🎉🎉

Released today - limited edition handmade soap bars just for summer. Sundowner is a cocktail of tropical fruit, vanilla and white rum 🍹 (see the foam on top? 😉) and Honeysuckle is just straight up Honeysuckle, a summer floral if ever there was one.

Now we just need the weather to go with them 😆

The Charcoal Facial Bar!

Perhaps not a huge surprise when you take into consideration the fact that the Luxury Facial Bar is currently out of stock (😬 fresh bars HAVE been made and are curing - ready in a few weeks).

The charcoal facial bar is wonderful for younger skin that’s more prone to greasy than dry - currently being used by my nearly fourteen year old. It’s loaded with activated charcoal (hence the colour) which gives it a (very!) slight exfoliating quality to help clear clogged pores and is said to help with shrinking pores too.

Bore da / good morning!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend? Did you see the aurora? Enjoy the sunshine? It made such a change for us to have such good weather and be able to get out into the garden 🤩

I forgot to share this on Friday - I updated the soap dishes category on the website so there are a load more ceramic dishes on there now (and better photos!)

These dishes are made locally by Helen at Helen Blue Slate at Snowdonia Blue Slate Pottery and are brilliant for letting your soap dry between uses - a must if you want it to stay firm right down to the last sliver.

I honestly did NOT expect the Swyn Body Cream to be the first to sell out! But never fear, I made more today and it’s back in stock on the website tonight.

Just one of the upsides of making something that doesn’t need to cure for six weeks - yes, I’m looking at you, Soap!

Ever wondered how I make these Eryri bars? It can get a bit messy, but the finally result is always worth the effort and the hand sculpted process means that no two bars are ever the same.

Fragranced with a custom blend of lime, peppermint, patchouli and a teeny bit of eucalyptus essential oils for a fresh, outdoorsy scent.

Controversial but…😬😂
I use my sisal exfoliating bag to collect up end pieces and scraps of soap and when it’s full I use it in the shower. Never EVER for new bars of soap.
