πͺ Embrace those long toes and the natural healing process π Nicely said K.R.H Natural horse care
We can all agree, we want to do our best for our horses.
What that looks like is different for everyone.
Social media is a great tool for sharing information. Sometimes there is a lot of conflicting information out there which has left a few owners confused. In that case, I go by studies (if they are avaliable), evidence and proof but also what sits true with me.
I've got a few laminitic cases on my books.
The Internet recently has been bombarded with trimmers sharing posts, for chopping of the toe and against chopping of the toe.
I'm not going to post the science, evidence and proof here because there is already so many posts about it out there that go into loads of detail so instead I will include links for you to read and make your own mind up about what you believe is right, for you and for your equine.
I'm a natural hoof care practitioner and we do not chop the toe. If that's what you are looking for, then I can proudly say, I'm not the lady for you.
(I will happily talk to any one regarding this in a private message βΊοΈ).
I've recently learnt that it's okay to have a difference of opinion and still be friends with some one. Agree to disagree. Perhaps in a case like this there is no right answer? I understand what makes sense to me, may not make sense to you. But ultimately our end goal is still the same and I believe this is what we should be focusing on. A happy healthy horse that never has to face laminitis ever again.
***I'm not promoting toe chopping, I'm adding the link purely for people to see both sides and for them to make an informed decision ***
