๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿพ Lets all meet Colin ๐Ÿ˜ this gorgeous boy started his physio journey after having spinal surgery and then another disc herniation just a few weeks after his first surgery! Luckily Colin loves to work for lots of treats and fuss and has enjoyed his treatments. He is so much stronger and his muscle mass has increased too. Itโ€™s quite visible to see how his posture has changed and his gait is so much better too, which he loves to show off as he runs into clinic. Well done Colin, you little superstar โญ๏ธ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’œ

Beautiful Frenchie, RIP gorgeous boy ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿพ

We have some very sad news.

Not sure if you remember our beautiful Frenchie who was wandering the streets and was taken under Pippa's wing by one of our amazing fosterers. Unfortunately Frenchie went on his long last sleep the past week. Frenchie just laid down in his bed during the day and went to sleep.

His foster mum and dad are absolutely devastated.

Rest easy Frenchie ๐Ÿ’”

๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿพ What a productive session we had today with gorgeous Mai & Honey! Safe to say they love working for treats, and today the primula was the one of choice! It all became too much for Honey so she decided to have a well earned snooze while Mai worked ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’œ

For January's Walk Your Dog Month, it's important that we can understand how to tell if our dogs are in pain during their walks ๐Ÿฆฎ

Dogs are often great at hiding discomfort, but subtle signs can indicate pain โ€“ especially during walks. Hereโ€™s what to watch for to ensure your dog stays happy and healthy โœจ

1. Limping or Favoring a Leg
One of the clearest signs is if your dog limps, avoids using one leg, or shifts weight to one side. This can indicate joint pain, muscle strain, or injury.

2. Changes in Gait
A stiff, unsteady, or hopping gait can indicate pain, as your dog may try to minimise pressure on certain joints.

3. Reluctance to Walk or Exercise
A dog that usually loves walks but becomes hesitant to leave the house might be experiencing chronic pain or discomfort.

4. Excessive Panting or Whining
While panting is normal during exercise, excessive panting, whining, or vocalising may signal pain or discomfort, even if the temperature is mild.

5. Frequent Sitting or Lying Down
If your dog sits or lies down frequently during walks, they may be trying to relieve pain or avoid using certain joints.

What to Do if You Notice These Signs:

Rest and Monitor: Give your dog time to rest and avoid strenuous activity.

Consult Your Vet: If signs persist, schedule a vet visit to explore treatment options.

Weโ€™re giving our beloved Blunt Mondays a fresh new twistโ€” say hello to Myth Mondays! ๐ŸŽ‰

Every Monday, weโ€™ll tackle common myths about canine arthritis and pain, replacing misconceptions with facts that can help your furry friends live their best lives ๐Ÿพ

This Weekโ€™s Myth:
โ€œMy dog canโ€™t be in pain because theyโ€™re still running around.โ€

Fact: Dogs are incredible at hiding pain, and adrenaline from activities like running or playing can temporarily mask their discomfort. Just because your dog is active doesnโ€™t mean theyโ€™re pain-free. Look out for subtle signs like stiffness, limping, or hesitationโ€”they could be telling you more than you think.

Letโ€™s bust these myths together and make life better for our pups! ๐Ÿ•โœจ
