The National Equine Defence League was founded in 1909 by Francis Cox, to campaign for the welfare of pit ponies and other working horses. Our Vision is a world where understanding and empathy ensure that all animals are treated with kindness and respect. Our Mission is to be a centre of excellence for the improvement of animal welfare in our region, proactively supporting animals and encouraging

people to prioritise animals welfare through our community programmes, advocacy and rehoming services. Whether you choose to fundraise, make a one-off donation or set up a monthly donation, we are enormously grateful for your support.

✉️ We’ve got Mail!

A lovely way to finish with an update from little Olive (one of our cheeseboard kittens). She has been in her new home for a few months & has gained so much confidence. She now loves to be the centre of attention, with her silly little personality & enjoys cuddles with the whole family!
Olive even has a new best friend in the families 3 year old Labrador, who she loves playing with. Recently, she has started to explore outside & is loving the sunshine! ☀️

Last week we had the pleasure of hosting our Dog Social, right here at Oak Tree!! 🐾

Our fabulous trainers, welcomed some lovely pooches & their owners for a fun-filled morning together! They finished the session with a trip to our Tea Room & the lucky pups ordered from our new canine-friendly menu!! 🍦

🐾 Pictured is our ‘Weather Kittens’ - Foggy, Drizzle, Rain, Lightning & Cloud ⛈️☔️ Despite their names, they are all little rays of sunshine & soon will be going home to their new families ☀️🏡

Keep an eye on our website, as we have more kittens who will be available for rehoming very soon. Their absolute favourite is Felix Kitten Food & we would be so grateful if you could please help us out.

Lovely Lexi found her forever home & is happier than ever ☺️💕

Lexi may be an older gal, but that hasn’t slowed her down or stopped her enjoying playing with her toys & going for plenty of fun walks. Recently, she has been having more time off lead, which she absolutely loves.
Lexi still enjoys regularly socialising with her canine friends. After a busy day, Lexi loves to crash out on the sofa! 🐾

🐈🐈🐈 PET UPDATE FROM RAFIKI 🐈🐈🐈 "Just letting you know, Rafiki has settled in well. He's such a lovely boy, and very tolerant of our youngest 🙈. Through the day he spends most of the time on my window sill helping me work. 🤣. He's also made friends with the neighbour's cat, all be it through glass just now. Many thanks for giving us the privilege of having him. 😻.
