W. Nixon & Sons Pet Shop We are a local family owned pet shop with dedicated staff. We were established in 1943 and have been trading at Bank Street Carlisle ever since.

We have dedicated staff members who just love animals. We have everything for your pet in store or available to order. When entering our shop you are presented with our friendly staff to the right who love to meet you and your animals. On the left we have toys, beds and food for your animals. Along down the shop will lead you to our live animals. From Rabbits, Hamsters, Kittens, Budgies and more.

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our friendly team at Will Nixon & Sons pet shop.
We are looking for a motivated individual who has a good work ethic and excellent customer care skills

This is a part time minimum 16 hrs per week, permanent position located at our well known premises at 5 Bank St, Carlisle.
Tasks and areas of responsibilities: • General shop floor restocking and display work • Assisting customers and helping with their needs • Work both individually and within a team to provide a great shopping experience from start to finish for our customers • Gain product knowledge ongoing • Ensure products are presentable and clean • Welcome and greet customers.

A big thank you to all the support and well wishes for the loss of our lovely cat Will, it has shown us that he really was a major part daily life in Carlisle for everyone.

In memory of Will and his legacy Megan Rae Tattoos at Focus Ink Carlisle has created this beautiful print for us which we are going to sell at £5 per print size a5, all proceeds are in aid of Oak Tree Animals' Charity and Cats Protection, you can pick them up in store 9:30-5.

They are in limited numbers so grab one soon to avoid disappointment!

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved cat Will on the 26th of March 2024 at the age of 16.

He will be remembered as a prominent fixture of Carlisle’s town centre where he wandered Bank Street and the High Street, often meeting his very long list of acquaintances along the way. There will never be another quite like Will and we feel very blessed to have been chosen by him.

He has been given in to the care of Paws To Rest at Armathwaite
