🌿 You may have started to notice that we've started to use some new bags for our 80gs and 150gs.

🌿 After asking around we found that compostable bags weren't suitable for everyone to dispose of readily and easily, so we've made the choice to switch to some recycled and biodegradable bags.

♻️ They are fully biodegradable and made from a minimum of 30% recycled material

♻️ They can be used, re-used and recycled just like a regular polythene bag can

♻️ If they do end up somewhere they don't belong they will biodegrade into natural compounds after a year due to bacteria and fungi in the environment

♻️ They've been tested to show that no microplastics or toxicity are left behin once they've gone

♻️ They're a tiny bit thinner than our other bags, so cue the nightmare when it comes to Dill and Hawthorne 🥲

It's Rabbit Awareness week!

I think we're all aware of how adorable and mischievous they can be, but the RWAF and RAW do great work around education and caring for these often complex little (and large) critters.

Working closely with a couple of rescues, we all too often hear the horror stories of what less fortunate buns have had to go through, and we are so lucky to know a community that strives to help rabbits however they can.

Thank you to all the rescues, volunteers, and everyone who helps make rabbits' lives that little bit better.

Hello everyone,

We hope you've been having a better week than us! Between supply issues, Myles putting his back out, and generally everything going a bit pear-shaped, we're a little behind on orders at the moment! Please bear us as we get back on track!

Secondly (kind of relating to the supply issues we've had), we'll be switching the packaging of the bulk bags for a short time until we can reliably get the stronger paper bags back!

The new bags are polythene and are made from at least 30% recycled materials, and are themselves recyclable. Some of the bulkier of the bulk items may come in 2 bags of 500g (because we *definitely* didn't underestimate the size of them 🤣😅🤦)

We love the environment here at Meathop Fell - it gives us rabbit food, after all 🤣

Not only are all our clear 'plastic' bags made from home-compostable wood pulp, and potato starch, but all the packaging we use is at least recyclable or made of recycled goods.

Every now and then you may also receive an order in a different sort of box than we usually use. This helps us recycle and repurpose boxes from our pet shop - Mabel's Place - and helps keep our packaging costs down, which means we can keep our forage cheaper!

(Sorry to whoever is getting the Discos box without any crisps in it. We can assure you they tasted amazing and hope it didn't give you any salt & vinegar cravings 🤣)
