The update is in!

Our precious passenger has been safely collected.

Isn't this little girl just absolutely beautiful? 😍

She's now on her way to her new home, where her loving family is eagerly awaiting her arrival!

And he’s off again, embarking on yet another journey!

This time, it’s all about a puppy transfer!

Gareth’s route takes him across the Pennines to Manchester, to collect his precious little passenger before heading south to Nottingham.

There, our little furry friend will be welcomed into a loving new home ❤️

As Gareth navigates this route, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that the snow continues to melt away. A little rain is forecasted for this afternoon, but we're hopeful it will help clear the roads and make his journey smooth and safe.

Here's to the start of a new chapter for our adorable passenger, filled with wagging tails, belly rubs, and endless love.

Last night, we answered an urgent call to Bradford at 1am to help a German Shepherd who had gone lame on his front leg and was in considerable pain and discomfort.

What was initially expected to be a straightforward two-hour task turned into a four-hour adventure, thanks to Mother Nature’s snowy surprise.

Though the photo might not show much snow, believe us when we say that the blend of snow and ice on the Bradford roads made the journey quite the challenge. Add to that Bradford's infamous hills, and it’s no wonder that regular taxis were nowhere to be seen.
But our commitment to providing care and comfort doesn't waver, no matter the weather or the time.

We’re proud to go the extra mile (sometimes literally) to ensure the safety and well-being of our furry friends. A big thank you to everyone who supports us in these endeavors—your encouragement means the world, especially on nights like these !

Both of us required for this call out tonight !

Heading over to Huddersfield after a recommendation from Calder Vets for emergency transport.

We are hoping for a positive outcome for this elderly lady and her dog who has become immobile after what may have been a seizure 🤞🏻

When moving dogs that aren’t mobile and are a large breed or over weight it’s so important we handle and transport them in the safest way possible, which sometimes means 2 of us are needed & this way handler and dog are both safe.

So what should be a chilling night for me like you all it’s NOT (The wheels keep turning) I’m getting prepared to set off at 18:00pm to Manchester for an 8 week old German Sheperd puppy to deliver upto Scotland before Xmas 🙏🏻

He’s a new client we’ve recently taken on for our dog walking services, 7 mth old springer spaniel and what a character he his! Always full of kisses & cuddles. An absolute adorable boy 💙🐾

We received a very sad call this morning to say that a dog we had previously taken to the vets last year had sadly passed away at home.

Her guardian called for us to transport Freya for her final journey and when we told her about our funeral services she chose to have a solo cremation with us.

Gareth collected Freya and transported her body over to the crematorium this morning and will return her ashes as soon as they are ready.

Please help us send lots of love and healing to Freya’s guardian at this sad and difficult time 🤲🏻✨💛

Just after midnight we had a emergency call out for Ted the Doberman who is unwell, a swift drive to York Centre to collect and deliver him to Swift Referrals where he’ll have the best care possible from our colleague’s 🙏🏻🐾

What a treat it was for Gareth to transport Croatia to her check up appointment after recently being spayed 🩷

Her guardian contacted us to see if we would transport an XL Bulldog due to the legislation which has been placed on this breed, and of course we do but have to follow all the guidelines for insurance and legal purposes. He also asked if we had a ramp to safety get Croatia in the van without risking her rupturing her stitches. And of course we have, our van is fully kitted out 🫶🏻

Gareth also had chance to meet Croatias brother Cartel who he will be picking up from his appointment next week after he is neutered.

Service update for the Christmas period:

For the first time since we started operating the Animal Ambulance during the pandemic, we are taking some time off over the Christmas period.

The Animal Ambulance will be out of service Monday 23rd December until the evening of Friday 27th December.

Normal service will resume on the evening of Friday 27th December and remains as normal up to Monday 23rd December.

Evening everyone, we’ve been quiet on the page as we’ve been super busy, so here is just an update for the past 24 hours.

Gareth had the honor of facilitating a pet funeral for an absolutely stunning German Shepard who’s family had to sadly say their good byes yesterday and he had his ashes back home within a few hours 🫶🏻

This morning we had transport for a cat being spayed recommended by vets 4 pets Castleford 🙏🏻

A kitten being taken to their new home this afternoon.

And finally this evening Gareth has headed over to the east coast to take a stray cat to Filey Cat Rescue and he’s just set off back home 🫶🏻

Remember we are 24/7 for emergency call outs !
