The Tour of Britain Men's Cycle Race is taking place in Northamptonshire on Saturday and there will be rolling road blocks in place, expected at Catesby Equestrian from around 12.15pm to 12.45pm. ANNOUNCEMENT
With effect from 1st October 2024 the grass arena at Catesby Equestrian will be closing for good and will no longer be available for hire. Apologies to those for whom this is disappointing.

Also with effect from 1st October 2024, the surfaced (main) arena at Catesby Equestrian will not be available for private hire until further notice. The usual clinics will still go ahead and coaches wishing to hire the arena for clinics should message the Catesby Equestrian FB page. Again, apologies to those for whom this is disappointing.

! ALL CLINICS WILL STILL GO AHEAD !

I've had several last minute requests to change / amend / move bookings recently.

Conditions of hire include a cancellation policy which is detailed in the Schedule of Charges, that you will have received when you made your first booking here, or when they have been updated.

The cancellation policy states:
"IF YOU HAVE TO CANCEL, IT IS USUALLY POSSIBLE TO ARRANGE A REFUND OR CREDIT FOR A FUTURE BOOKING AS LONG AS MORE THAN 24 HOURS NOTICE OF CANCELLATION IS GIVEN. (N.B. There will be no refunds or credits for additional services such as setting up a dressage arena or jumps if cancelled with less than 48 hours notice)
REFUNDS ATTRACT AN ADMIN. FEE OF £1"

Please take the trouble to read the Arena Hire T&Cs and the Schedule of Charges - if you have any questions once you have done so, I'm happy to answer them.

A good day was had by horses, handlers & riders AND the coach, Lisa Dixon today :-D

If you'd like to benefit from some one-to-one coaching with the opportunity to make some real progress by having two sessions on the same day, then please let Lisa know by going to her FB page "Freelance Equine - Trick Training and Horsemanship" and commenting on her post, or messaging her.

Lisa's next private clinic here is next week on 28th August but that is fully booked, so let her know if you'd like her to arrange another weekday clinic. :-)

Lovely day of 1-2-1 sessions at Catesby Equestrian again today. Was great to get to spend some individual time with each partnership and then progress on with in a follow up afternoon session, rather than just group sessions like normal. Working on what people wished to focus on in their session and having homework to take away.
It was a nice variety for myself, from starting school halts, liberty work, general softness/removing brace patterns both inhand and under saddle, trick training and aiding ridden schooling. My brain sure aches now - I sure understand all the sleepy, processing faces today! 😅

Last one next Wednesday but it is fully booked.

If anyone wishes to continue weekday sessions, it can potentially be arranged if enough people (as I'm an hour away). Pop a comment if so.

Due to a change in planned events this weekend, I'm going to take the opportunity to put some show jumps up again!

There will be 6 jumps in the arena on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th.

A polite reminder for those coming to Catesby Equestrian to hire the course of show jumps:

• If you dismantle the jumps, please reassemble them and leave them as you found them.

• If you take more fillers from the jump store, please put them back when you have finished.

• If you need to move a jump to suit your requirements, please return it to its original position when you have finished.

PLEASE LEAVE THE COURSE OF SHOW JUMPS AS YOU FIND THEM

Hannah Irons is back at Catesby Equestrian for a rider biomechanics clinic, offering off-the-horse and ridden sessions and you can choose to do one or the other or both! :-D

I have today had an unpleasant encounter with a cyclist who insisted that he is allowed access to Catesby Equestrian as a public place, as he had been advised by "a friend who has horses".

I have to make it clear that Catesby Equestrian is on private property and access is only for those who have business here. It is not a public park. Please make sure that friends and acquaintances are aware of this.

I will be putting up some rather unwelcoming signs to make sure that there can be no further mistakes of this sort but in the meantime I should like to avoid any more encounters with bad tempered trespassers.

❗️JANE HUSSELL ARENA XC CLINIC❗️Saturday 13th July

This is a simulated arena XC clinic giving you the opportuntiy to practice XC techniques such as angles, skinnies, curving lines, corners etc. over showjumps.

Due to unfortunate cancellations, spaces have become available as follows:
10am - 2 x 80-90cm
12 noon - 1 x 40-60cm
1pm - 1 x 70-80cm
2pm - 1 x 65-75cm
