Something to think about!!

Conker warning!
Another annual warning for us all to be aware of.
As autumn approaches and conkers are falling from the trees, please be aware of a two-fold danger to our dogs from the fruit of the Horse Chestnut Tree.
Firstly, the conkers if chewed and eaten, are poisonous.
Secondly, if they are swallowed whole they can cause a blockage in the dog’s intestine.
If it is suspected that a dog has ingested conkers then the recommended course of action is an urgent trip to the vet.
As always, prevention is better than cure, so never throw conkers for dogs to retrieve. Never encourage them to pick up or in any way play with conkers

Not bulldogs but look at these couldn’t not share 😍😍

These little fluffs are 8 weeks old and ready for their families.

Vet checked and microchip, these 3 babies are all chocolate carriers apart from Lulu who’s is Lilac

She’s a true lilac platinum ( lilac wrapped in cream )

so dna 🧬 is -

2 copies of blue
2 copies of chocolate with 2 copies of cream (dna results can be provided)

As far as I’m aware she’s the only lilac platinum female born in the Uk with this pedigree and what a pedigree it is! We have doubled up on the fantastic - Fiumegiallo within our lines, the foundation of the chocolate gene.

So the last few weeks have been an absolute rollercoaster of emotions, pixie went into labour 5 days early and I had to whelp the pups with nothing ready, thankfully I read her body language and had the Incubator out, cleaned and sanitized "just in case".... I delivered 3 little boys who are now big an fat and thriving, however the next three were still born I tried to bring the first one back, with mouth to mouth and compressions untill number 5 came out to which I realised they were all gonna be still born due to them not being attached to the placenta, we got number 6 the same way and number 7 came out on the way to the vets, always follow your gut in these situations cos number 8 needed help and a little snip to the v***a helped with that. Despite the whole thing pixie was bloody fabulous and is the most amazing mumma, lol she was literally rolling over to tell me she wanted her baby's.... its been long nights and early morning but here they are 2 weeks old yesterday

I can not stress this enough!!! This weekend DO NOT WALK YOUR BULLYDOGS OR CHOWS OR PUGS OR ANY DOG infact... they can live not walking but they will die in a split second walking out in that heat....... be sure to have lemon juice and follow the advice I put on here next....

What to do it your bulldog over heats .

If your bulldog is overheating it is imperative that you act quickly. Initially stand them in a bath of cool water NOT COLD!!!! and pour water over their head, especially around their neck, you need to cool the blood going to the brain as in severe cases of overheating there is a risk of brain damage from hot blood going to the brain. (Don't turn the hose pipe on them , it may panic them and make them worse & and the first lot of water sat in the hose could be boiling hot water!!)
Place ice under their tail (just inside their bottom if you can), keep pouring cool water over them and keep calm, if you panic your dog will panic.
Your dog will go very pale as the circulation system struggles to cope.
Try get them in the bath & Keep going with the water - don't take them out of the bath until the breathing has calmed down, talk calmly to your dog - you will be soaked, your bathroom will be soaked, but you will save their life!!!!!!!!!
Once the breathing is calmer, remove them from the bath but don't dry them, they will still be very pale (inside mouth, gums and inner eyes).
Let them wander but don't make a fuss of them, your fussing may make them anxious and it could start over again. Still don't force them to drink, but make up a rehydration mix ( oralade Gi or Hydrate + for example you can buy this from amazon) and place it in a bowl for them to drink from if they wants to.

Always have a bottle of lemon juice to hand, carry one in your bag on days out as this will be a life saver and cut the phlem from the back of the throat which is what stops the foaming during heat stroke and helps them breath.

Remember now the sun is coming be double weary of your squishy faces, lots of water bowls down, walk in the cool mornings or the cooler evenings if the heat is hot on you it's 10 x that on your dog, the path is burning your feet it's burning their feet - be careful of letting them play with water hoses, twisted gut can occur and over drinking can kill even tho it looks fun - fact, Google it!!!

Paddling pools/giant water bowls are great for dipping the feet in that will help cool dramatically and darken all hot rooms with blankets/curtains to keep out the sun 🌞.

You doggo will not eat as much when it's hot so don't be overly worried just try feed them in cooler times and remember to sun block your bully's or ANY white dog/cat you own just like us they burn.

Hopefully you NEVER have to use these tips but they are here for that "just incase" moment.

Sooooo tomorrow the puppers and willow go back to our client and Edgar goes back to his owner 😪
I must say its been such a lush time having pups back in the house and we are truly honoured we were asked to take on such a big responsibility as its a lot of trust leaving your dogs and puppy's with us 2... (both DBS checked 😜😘) and our gang of brats.

We have a few litters lined up ourself this year if all goes to plan - frenchies and chows so we're super exited... updates will be posted on here....

We also have British, frenchie and chows next year if all goes to plan 🤞🏾so as of next year I will be hoping to leave work full time and whelp - not just my litters but other peoples so if you don't have the time to take off work for the whole 8 weeks and would like me to take the first and crucial first 3 weeks off your hands please inbox me and we can come to some arrangement, if you know me than you know you will have nothing to worry about leaving your darlings here with me, I plan to go on a first aid for animal course aswell as a tube feeding course so that you know even if your pups are prem or cleft pallet I will be ready to take it on whole heartedly.

Seeing the likes of Edgar come to me 3 weeks ago and his owner not expecting him to live being a week early and under birth weight to her coming to see him yesterday and her see him running and barking at her makes this the reason why I want to do this all day every day.
