TopSpec recommendation for upcoming FIREWORKS season and how to help your horses stay calm.

𝐓𝐨𝐩𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜 𝐓𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐢𝐩

Firework season is only days away and although we support silent fireworks, we know they are not universal yet. Horses can be helped with a relaxing supplement during frightening times.

Because horses absorb powder as quickly as liquid or paste there is no disadvantage in terms of speed of response by using a ‘daily’ powdered additive. Did you know that you usually get much higher levels of active ingredients by feeding a daily powder than by using a paste? This is because of manufacturing restrictions.

For example TopSpec Calmer should ideally be fed for 48 hours before fireworks to allow hindgut effects to maximise a horse’s response but it can also be fed just 1-2 hours before fireworks as it contains high levels of fast-acting ingredients.

Not all horses are anxious for the same reason, so TopSpec Calmer has been developed with much more than a ‘single ingredient’ approach. It contains yeast, MOS, B vitamins, magnesium, tryptophan, and sepiolite clay, which all act in different ways to help promote relaxed behaviour in responsive horses. The magnesium, B vitamins and tryptophan are all fast-acting.

TopSpec Calmer is designed to be fed to horses and ponies displaying anxious behaviour, particularly those that cannot cope with stressful situations such as firework displays.

TopSpec Calmer contains only natural ingredients but no herbs. It is a palatable, caramel-flavoured additive that should be mixed into damp feed.
