In this heat make sure your piggies are kept cool by;
☀️having fresh clean water
☀️you can place a tile within their cage to keep them cool
☀️ice packs wrapped in a pillow case or towel so they can lie next to them or on them if they wish to
☀️You can give them watery veggies to keep hydrated too such as cucumber
Please do not give frozen fruit and veggies as this can be dangerous as it’s too cold and cause GI stasis.
The rescue room has the windows shut and blinds down and closed which helps keep the room cool. If you keep them in a south facing room which gets really hot I suggest moving them to another room until the heat eases off 🐾
This is also for rabbits, and for hamsters I advise not putting in ice packs as they may chew them, but placing in tiles or terracotta pot/tiles helps keep them cool 😎
