It is now 6 long months since Finn arrived back in kennels and we are sadly, no closer to him finding his forever home 😔 It’s just so disappointing that there are so many capable people out there that could offer him that perfect home and help him but he is constantly passed by.
Finn is so much happier than when he first arrived, although he may still have some niggles that need work, we know from experience that in the correct environment and with patience and training these can be fixed. Unfortunately these issues are hard, if not impossible to work through in kennels so we’re kinda stuck.
Finn is a fabulous little dog who we are all tremendously fond of. He is a cheeky little chap that has a sense of humour and loves to make you laugh, he is loving and affectionate, extremely clever, eager to learn, ridiculously fast and never seems to tire. He would make an exceptional agility dog if he was given the chance. If you gain Finn’s trust he will give you his all.
Finn CANNOT spend the rest of his life in kennels, it is not financially possible for us and most importantly it is not fair on Finn. He has so much to give and a world of things he could achieve but that is only possible in a permanent home with an experienced person who is willing to work with him.
6 months is an eternity to any dog, they have such short lives and he is already, statistically speaking, a third of the way through his life. For a young kelpie in his prime to be kennelled without a job to do is just wrong.
Please 🙏 if you are a canine professional in search of a project dog, consider Finn.
This is a compilation video of what he got up to this past week 🥰

Yesterday Finn and his buddies had a little road trip to North Wales 🏴 We visited and spent a lovely afternoon on a beach beach that I have passed many times and always always wanted to visit. There were very few people and dogs but just enough so I could test out his reaction and recall. He was absolutely perfect, he ignored people and dogs, interestingly wanted to go and see some children but recalled away beautifully 🥰 He spent his afternoon stalking, herding and chasing Barry but every now and then would come and check in with me and give me a lick and a cuddle. At 4pm he seemed keen to leave, so we made our way back to the car for a drink and were on our way. He travels well in his crate now with minimum fuss and noise and had stopped destroying the blankets. I did notice that whenever we slowed down or were stopped in traffic he’d bark 🤔 It wasn’t until we arrived back at kennels that I realised that 4pm is when they get their evening meal and Finn’s tummy clock was reminding him that he was hungry and was late for his tea. He was obviously telling me to hurry up 😂
