Seven years ago you walked into our lives and turned them around. Who knew a dog could make such a big impact on not just us but so many other people and dogs?? If not for you people now friends would only be a name seen on Facebook I doubt if I would have heard of Pet Blood Bank or Canine Concern. Plus I would never have started making dog coats and raising money for rescues.
You can be an absolute tit with other dogs when out, but those you love you defend.
Thank you Dobby for choosing our bins to look for food in, and for deciding to make us your humans and slaves.

I am unapologetically sharing this little story, this is how rescues should work, TOGETHER!!
This past week I heard the sad tale of this little beauty who jumped over a wall, not knowing there was a steep drop the other side and broke her leg 🥲. Sadly her owner did not have the finances an available to pay for her vet care and so she was signed over to Saluki Rescue UK. Now they then had to find the funds to pay for her care and have decided to run an auction. I have donated a few DobbysCoats items and will let you all know when the auction is up and running.
Now as I put in my previous post, it’s coming up to the time of year that I celebrate finding Dobby by supporting a rescue in some way, and so we are running a raffle on Rescue Fundraising with the proceeds going to a rescue.
Now I offered this to Saluki Rescue UK and this is where I am totally blown away. Rather than grabbing the offered money, I was told that they were now in the position after having some extremely generous donations plus the forthcoming auction, that they would be able to cover heir vet bill easily and for me to donate the raffle funds to another Rescue who might be struggling at this present time.
This has completely blown me away!! As far as I am concerned this is how rescues should work together, being prepared to share the love and money around to where it is most needed.
Last year I was disillusioned after having supported a rescue for the past number of years with time and money but sadly once I said that I would be supporting other rescues in future I found myself cast out. So to experience the polar opposite this week has made me once again respect all those who put the animals first and foremost.
So there is a raffle going up on Rescues Fundraising Facebook group in support of Makants Greyhound rescue so please go on over and support us and please go over and visit Saluki Rescue UK and support them in their auction, and you never know you might find a new four legged friend to make your life perfect.

So on February 21st it will be Dobbys finding day. 2018 I walked outside to see bin rubbish over the floor and him looking for food 😢😢😢 he was skin and bone and nobody claimed him plus he wasn't chipped. I have my suspicions as to his origin and boy am I glad he chose my bins to empty.
Since that day he has gone on to me the pivot in my life, he is responsible for me making new friends whom I am so very happy that we met, whether dog walking or whilst posting on lurcher groups whilst trying to understand the quirks that are Dobby.
What can I say, he has made a huge difference in the lives of so many, not just myself, but the people we have met. The dogs he has never met but will have saved with his blood donations (over 100 dogs and counting), the smiles he has given to people in schools and care homes on his visits as a Canine Concern dog and last but far from least the money that has been raised since I started making him coats and then selling them to raise funds for rescues.
Apart from being a total k**b when we meet other dogs as he goes into I will shout at you and try to look scary before you attack or scare e me mode, I cannot fault him at all. With people of all ages he has never put a paw wrong and apart from hogging the sofa and the bed (in the static) I can't find a fault at home, worth moaning about.
So it's soon to be seven years of Dobby (vets guessed he was about six months old when we got him). Every year I have done something to celebrate the day but supporting a rescue in some way the best I can. So I am looking for suggestions. The only caveat being it has to be a UK based rescue that doesn't bring in animals from abroad. There are too many in this country who need homes without bringing more in at present.
So hit me with your suggestions and I will then arrange to do a little fundraiser thanks to Dobby.
