Eventually scattered Hoppy & Hopscotch’s 🐓🐓 ashes in the pen so they back with their friends.

We’ve had to keep Hoppy’s ashes for a while as it’s been too wet & miserable 🌧️

But they are now both at rest 💔

My name was Hoppy!

I was rescued in July 2021 from a farm for caged hens & one of my legs didn’t work so I was kept back by Toton, Nottingham & they gave me my forever home 🏡 along with Petula Cluck & Eggatha 🥚 Christie.

Unfortunately all of us have now flown over the rainbow 🌈 bridge 💜 but we had such happy times in our forever homes & I know my hoomans loved us & still miss us & they’d want other hens like us to have happy retirement homes 🏡

We have lots of collection points open…

All we ask for is a donation of £3 per hen 🐓 & please send photos of your coop, run & any free range area when reserving to speed up the admin process for these lovely hoomans who take time out their busy hooman life’s to volunteer to help find us forever homes.

Can YOU give us our retirement homes? Our sisters and I are still looking to find our forever coop. We can live in groups of 2 or 3 or even 20 and will reward you with the occasional egg when we have have settled in.
We promise to make you laugh with our personalities and when we realise that you have lovely treats we will be your best friends.
We are only 18 months old and are so lucky to get a second chance to live out the rest of our lives so please write the perfect happy ending for us by adopting some chickens, you won’t regret it 💕🐓💕

Toton, Nottingham are doing their first rehoming of the year tomorrow.

We have 49 Arlington Whites 🐓arriving around midday, first they will have a little recovery time from their journey from the Cotswolds.

They will then be collected by their new hoomans & taken away to their forever homes 🏡.

Still trying to come to terms with Hoppy’s passing 🐓🌈💔

She absolutely loved roast potatoes & we had a roast last Sunday & had potatoes left over.
I was going to give them to her on Monday when I got in from work but she’d gone.

I keep crying that she never got her roast potatoes 😭

I’ve come home tonight for Chris to tell me Hoppy 🐓has died 😭

He found her this morning when he went to check on all of them, tucked up in her coop like she was sleeping.

She was fine on Saturday & yesterday 😭

Hi would anyone be interested in this handsome chap!

His brother was taken by a fox and his owner is sad to rehome him but is worried for his safety.
They are based in Mansfield and they just want to find him a good home.

They are happy to handle it all if a home can be found.

He is 9 months old and a stunning boy.

🎄🐓 A Chickens Christmas Prayer 🎄🐓

As the festive time approaches, and peoples minds are busy-
With lists and cards and presents, until their feeling dizzy..
I ask you'll spare a moment, in the hectic days ahead,
To remember all us chickens, both the living and the dead.
To those you saved just yesterday, to those you'll save tomorrow,
To every hen who suffered, was abused or facing sorrow.
To the girls who knew of freedom, even if that time was brief -
Because you took the time to try to change our tearful grief.
All the hens you tried to comfort, when they all looked at their worst,
All the ladies who you cuddled, who you talked to and you nursed.
To you we were important, we all had lives that mattered,
Even if our lives were tragic, so neglected, sad or battered.
You changed our worlds around us, by a welcome to your home,
No longer were we fearful, we weren't frightened or alone.
You made a difference to our lives, the freedom that you shared,
It made us all so happy, that you were the one who cared.
And if we have one wish, at this festive time of year -
It will be that when you think of us - to please not shed a tear.
You shared a taste of freedom, which so many fail to see -
You gave to us the pleasure of what it feels like to be free.
For that we cannot thank you, if we spent ten thousand years,
So the last thing we would want to see are eyes so filled with tears.
The best type of memorial, should that be what you would like,
Is to adopt another chicken, and save them from such plight.
So please don't ever grieve us, don't feel any guilt or shame
You gave to us such blessings, both a home, and then a name...
And from heaven I will wish you, not a sad face or a tear-
But lots of Christmas wishes, for a hen filled brand new year.
