It's taken a few days on our travels to gain the trust of our new French friends - but now they are lapping up the attention ! 😽
Henri and Suzie (that's what we've named them 😸) live at a neighbouring house but obviously also regard the garden of the house where we are staying, as their own territory. In fact, Henri sprayed down the side of our car this morning, whilst he was doing his patrol. Thanks Henri 🙀 🙈 😹
Suzie's video is in the first Comment. Aren't they just gorgeous ...? 😽
When we meet up with 13 year old Maine Coon April in Sale, Cheshire we always have a really loving, head bumpy Session.
Today was no exception. Here we are having a good fuss, part way through her Session ...
Ragdoll Dolly was feeling pretty pleased with herself after her latest Clip in Bolton, Greater Manchester.
Here's the little lady ...
Do you think that Schmuley in Didsbury, Manchester is enjoying his Session ?
By the way, it wasn't raining. Schmuley is listening to a sleep app !
We met up with Ragdoll Steve today in Blackpool, Lancashire.
Steve had recently developed a few clumps on his flanks but his family had managed to remove most of the affected area by the time of our visit.
So, today we had a very gentle, laid back Session. The remaining clumps were teased out with the comb - which was fortunate as Steve was uneasy with the clippers.
Other than that, he lay over with little persuasion as we combed his belly.
You'd be forgiven for thinking he hadn't been fed for weeks when you see him attack the kitty yoghurt ...
Here's young Maine Coon Otis in Preston, Lancashire - just chilling as we finished up with his Lion Clip.
Such a good boy !
Our Jimmy's tongue in slo mo !
Did you know that the surface of the tongue is covered with hundreds of backward facing spines called papillae, which are made of a protein called keratin ? Their fur is made up of keratin primarily, as well - as are their claws.
We caught up again with Ragdoll Dorothy in Chorley, Lancashire for her Autumn Session.
Dorothy's coat was in great shape. We removed undercoat to pare it down and take her through the coming Winter months.
Dorothy always has such a lot to say. We always have a full blown conversation.
When we were packing the car up later, Dorothy was out there, rolling around and wanting more fuss !
Does anyone know what this condition is called ?
This is Raindance Maggie May, one of our customer's cats.
She's obviously relaxed - but if anyone has any insight ... 🤣🤣🤣
Matilda - Watching Cat TV last night, after a busy day of snoozing ! 🤣
We called in again to see 10 year old Selkirk Rex Mimi on The Fylde Coast, Lancashire.
As a Selkirk Rex, Mimi has a very wavy coat. No sooner has it been combed, than it springs back to its former self !
Lots of hair came away today during Mimi's Session and it was a REALLY purrrrrry Session !
Listen to her purr ... and Mimi loves looking at herself in the camera !
Toby Jug's coat was in good condition today in Sedbergh, Cumbria.
Toby's Sessions have become easier for him over the years. He's still not over the moon, but he will tolerate combing if there's yoghurt to distract him. In fact, Toby likes handling his own yoghurt tube !
Watch that tongue go on the video ...
Here's Mr Teddy Bear from the Wirral, Merseyside - Before & After his latest Full Clip.
Ted has super powers when the coat comes away. Haha, look at him go.
Bye, Ted !
It's a while since we last met up with Ragdoll Cookie in Chorley, Lancashire.
Cookie is a sweet girl. She likes to be in charge and have things her way, but she can be talked round with lots of sweet talk and fuss. On the quiet she loves it !
We had a good de-fluff and removed pelted areas from Cookie's back area.
Today was a much more settled Session than last time.
Here she is, looking at herself in the camera ...
When we met up again with 17 year old Harry in Preston, Lancashire, it was evident his coat had EXPLODED over the Summer ! Not only was it full, it was clumpy in general.
So, the only way forward for Harry was a fresh start.
Here's the young man - Before & After his Lion Clip.
We had a chilled Session. harry was ever so amenable and helped by offering the right limb at the right time !
Wow !
Maine Coon Millie had her best Clipping Session to date today in Rossendale, Lancashire.
Millie never finds her Sessions easy but she really tried hard today, with the help of a little yoghurt !
Afterwards - as after each of her Clips - she goes straight out into the garden and washes and washes and washes, licking all the bits she's probably not seen for so long.
She's probably still at it !
Who remembers Mr Teddy Bear on the Wirral, Merseyside ?
That's right - Mr Teddy Bear the Exotic Longhair !
We've been meeting up with Ted since he was around 12 months old and we were there with him today, just as he was celebrating his 10th birthday.
Ted was a model customer today. He knows what to expect and didn't disappoint - he loves all the fuss that goes with a Session.
Well done, Ted, you were fantastic on the grooming table today.
And many happy returns !
Do you remember last week, we showed you how a short haired cat's coat looks, when it becomes matted ? The model was Ringo, with his punky tufts.
Below is a long haired cat, whose coat has become badly matted. Way beyond combing, but not having yet reached a hard pelt.
There is still little bit of 'give' on this side section. Towards the end of the video clip you can see that there is room for the comb to tease the matting a little further away from the torso, for a looser finish. This isn't always possible. Sometimes the mats/pelts are extremely tight to the skin, almost as if they'd been glued on.
