Why Leaving Your Dog’s Poo Behind is SUCH a Great Idea… 💁🏻♀️💩
Oh, what a lovely surprise it is to step in a fresh pile of dog poo on a morning walk. Truly, nothing says “Good start to the day” like scraping sh💩t off your shoes with a stick. But in case you need a few more reasons why leaving dog mess behind is a terrible idea, here you go:
🚫 It’s NOT Fertilizer – Unlike cow manure, dog p**p is acidic and full of bacteria, which can harm grass and plants instead of helping them grow.
🦠 Did you know? – More on that bacteria point…. Dog poo is packed with it…. and parasites like E. coli, salmonella, and roundworms—perfect for spreading disease to other dogs, wildlife, and small children who love face-planting when they run and play. Lovely.
💩 Painting the Pavements – Who doesn’t love a good game of hop scotch on their walk….. Bonus points if someone on a bike rides through it and spreads the joy even further.
👃 Free Perfume for the Great Outdoors – Nothing enhances a fresh countryside walk like the rich aroma of rotting dog sh💩t.
🚰 Extra Flavour for Your Local River – Polluting the water ways because you took a hard pass on picking up ya p**p!
💵 A Bargain at Just £100! – If being a decent human isn’t motivation enough, leaving dog mess behind could land you a fine of up to £100 (or more if you really fancy testing your luck). That’s a lot of money for being lazy. I’ve said it before, if you can afford a dog, you can afford p**p bags!
🐾 Just Pick It Up – It’s not hard. Carry some poo bags, do the right thing, and put it in ANY public bin. Orrrr take it home and pop it in your own rubbish bin 😱Your neighbours, fellow walkers, and every single person who owns shoes will appreciate it.
I understand the odd time your dog may drop a log in the lake, or the ditch that’s too deep for you to climb 🤷🏼♀️ But Jesus! Respect yourself and the area you walk.
Thankyou
