Esme and Bentley 🐰🐰 sweet little bonded pair, who are such cuddle bugs, in such a lovely big outdoor set up!
An insulated shed with a safe (or multiple) secure outdoor run attached is the perfect outdoor bunny setup, plenty of space for them to hop about especially at night when they are their most active, all while being safe from foxes!
No hutches!!!! Hutches should only be used as a safe hidey hole with the doors open at all times
Hutches were designed over 1500 years ago for the sole purpose of meat rabbits. There isn’t enough room for them to move around, therefore easier to “fatten up”. Yet still, in 2025 we see poor rabbits shut in them 24/7

This is just your Easter reminder that 🐇

Unfortunately in todays society rabbits are now associated with Easter, meaning that many people this time of year will go out and buy a rabbit as an Easter gift not understanding the special care that they require. Many of these rabbits then fall into the hands of a rescue or sold online once the novelty has worn off, often left with health issues, not vaccinated, spayed or neutered. Rabbits are already facing a real crisis at the moment as it is without more people buying them as Easter gifts.

Please understand that rabbits are a 10+ year life long commitment and are delicate beings who need special care. They need a suitable diet, a constantly supply of fresh hay, enrichment, companionship of their own kind, suitable housing requirements (being kept in small cages and hutches is not enough), specialist care with a specialist vet, yearly vaccinations to prevent them from deadly diseases, regular grooming and the list goes on.

It’s also important that if you are serious about opening up your home to rabbit that you adopt and not shop. Rescues will make sure that all rabbits before leaving are up to date with vaccinations, have been neutered or spayed and have had health checks. Pet stores or any kind of breeders who try to sell and make profit from individuals do not have their best interest in making sure that rabbits are vaccinated, neutered or spayed before going off to their new homes, and often send them off in unsuitable enclosures.

We still have many rabbits on our waiting list that we have had to put a halt on at the moment because we just don’t have enough funds. Again, many of them are uneutered/spayed, unvaccinated and are likely to have other health issues going on. With the costs going up we have been able to help less rabbits, but have been trying to help the best when and where we can. It would be IRRESPONSIBLE of us to take on more than we can when we are already struggling with funds.

We will be sharing some of our sponsored rabbits in the next couple of days. Sponsor a rabbit this Easter instead and help out a rescue 🙏🏼

Please understand the importance of adopting. It is places like breeders are pet stores who are the root cause for many rabbits and other animals who are suffering right now. This needs to stop and it MUST stop.

The government should impose a lifetime ban on animal ownership for anyone who causes deliberate suffering to animals. Under current laws, courts can impose bans but these may be short-term, allowing offenders to own animals again after a short period.

Happy 6th birthday to my gorgeous Corey girl 🥰
We’ve had Corey for 5 years now, we took her in just as lockdown hit and she got brought back to a pet shop and left there, as the people who had her completely misunderstood her and didn’t realise just how much work bunnies can be, and that they’re not easy starter pets for children.
Corey hates to be picked up, but loves to be stroked (only by me😂) she can be quite territorial and protective of food and is super destructive. BUT she’s the best girl, once she’s understood and you respect her boundaries (just like any dog or cat who had a hard start) she’s the best bunny ever!
She loves her food, loves toys, loves to run around and loves to cuddle up to her boyfriend Rory. She’s so incredibly clever and beautiful 😍
Here’s to many more birthdays with you 🐰💕
