There's more than one way to crack a nut.🥜🥜. Testosterone and Teddy.
Teddy was previously down for "the op" but on a discussion with his owners, we wanted to make sure it was the right decision.
His owners elected for an implant that reduces testosterone levels, a way of temporary chemical castration rather than him going under the scalpel.
The reduction in hormone did not always suit Teddy, he became a little more nervous round male entire dogs, so we've decided to leave him with boy bits intact.
The days of blanket neutering for all are over. We want to do the right thing for your individual boy, and our pre-operative assessment discussions on timing and alternatives are now the norm at our clinic. Teddy's owners chose a great alternative for him, to allow behavioural assessment before a permanent reduction in testosterone levels.
And I'm sure that Teddy is also quite pleased with the outcome.
For more information contact the surgery and book a prenuter assessment with one of our nurses or a behavior discussion with our RVN Vicky.
