WINTER ATTIRE!

As the temperatures have fallen, it’s a timely reminder to dog owners to think about having their dogs wear a suitable coat.
Some breeds particularly, need extra protection from the cold…Sighthounds, Whippets, and any breed with little or no long or thick coats.
It is also really beneficial for older dogs who may have/have Osteoarthritis as keeping them warm can help prevent further injury to joints.
Extra blankets at bedtime is also a good idea.

Coats come in many different types, some include elbow coverings and longer legs.
Hi visibility options are ideal during winter and for those walking after dark.

The Border Terrier in the orange coat had obviously decided he’d had enough walking, as we know he doesn’t object to wearing his coat. 🤣

Anybody who would like to share pictures or ideas…please add in comments.

REUNITED

FOUND

We have had this female cat brought into us again. She was previously brought in to us in Sept 2024 & an owner came forward to collect out of hours. It is believed that she lives around the York Road area in Colwyn Bay.

Found by the Car Care Garage on Woodland Road East. She has a very distinctive short tail. She is chipped but registered to a Portuguese address. Not injured.

Please get in contact with the practice on 01492531448 if she is yours.

Due to having osteoarthritis, Merlin had been having gradual mobility issues including stumbling for two to three years and occasional ‘knuckling’ on his back legs (catching the tops of his toes on the ground). He was already on some medications to try and help with pain management, but this was limited as he has a sensitive tummy, ruling out the use of some drugs.
Fast forward to 3 months ago, his worried owner decided to try a monthly injectable treatment to see if these could help.
Success…He is now holding himself better and lifting his paws higher. He is also off all the original pain relief except the occasional half a paracetamol for days when he’s really exerting himself. It’s been life changing and it’s been 3 years since since his owner has seen him do Zoomies like the one in the video.
He is much happier and has a very different demeanour.
We’ve been told it’s (the injections), changed his life.

He looks forward to his walks and greets his walker with his lead now, and celebrated his 11th Birthday recently.

Think the cat is very puzzled to see him suddenly exhibiting his new found energy.

Naughty or nice? Santa Paws is checking his list twice! 💌🎅

Treat your pet to the 'nice list' foods this holiday season as a treat in moderation, but keep those 'naughty' items well out of paws' reach.
