NEW DOG WALKER POSITION PLEASE SHARE!

Due to demand, our business is still looking for a another Dog Walker to join the team as a self employed or an employed dog walker. You will be delivering 1-2-1 dog walks and or group walks and potentially dog visits/ sitting and cat sitting. You'll be expected to conduct yourself honestly and be respectful to clients, their dogs and their properties. Punctuality is also very important.

This job will have opportunities to gain hands on experience working with animals, to pursue a career in the pet industry. You will also have the opportunity to shadow a dog trainer in classes and behavioural consults.

Candidates will be paid per service carried out on a weekly basis if self employed and monthly if employed. Hours may fluctuate week to week but bookings often provide part time hours.

Responsibilities

- Delivering 1-2-1 dog walk, group dog walks and visits to a variety of dog breeds.

- Maintaining the health and welfare of the dogs in your care including management of illness and administering medication upon request.

- Managing the dogs behaviour on walks, such as anxiety and/or reactivity.

-Cleaning dogs paws after their walk and leaving fresh water.

- positively handling of all animals in your care.

-Writing report cards and sending photo and video updates through Whatsapp and Facebook

-Liaising with myself, the business owner regarding bookings, client satisfaction and/or any potential issues.

-Liaising with the team on WhatsApp to plan future bookings and schedules and discuss concerns or queries.

-Handling and safely storing client keys

- Maybe some overnight care required in owners own homes

Commitments

- Hours are flexible but will be weekly. They will change according to the amount of bookings each week.

- Required to cover a maximum of 5 walks or sits per working day according to bookings.

-Happy to increase hours to cover holidays or sick leave for other members of the team, including the business owner.

-Happy to work occasional weekends.

-This job could be performed alongside other self emplyment.

-You will require first aid training DBS check and other professional development upon being hired.

-Willingness to work confidently with each and every breed.

- to attend staff meetings as required

Location

-Work would be in the South Yorkshire area

Candidate Requirements

-Experience caring for dogs would be beneficial.

- Great communication skills and a genuine love for dogs.

-Organised and responsive to messages to enable the business owner to book clients promptly.

- Must be physically fit and willing to work in all weather's, within reason.

- Pet First Aid Training required or willing to complete such training when hired.

-DBS check required

- Qualifications in Canine Care and/or animal management preferable or recommended but not necessary.

-Full driving licence and access to a car. (mandatory)

- Public Liability insurance (such as Protectivity.) if your going to be self employed but we can help you with this.

- An up to date CV

This position is ideal for dog lovers and those that wish to gain experience working with dogs to pursue a career in canine care, welfare and/ or behaviour etc.
