Wellness screens are an excellent way of helping to detect any hidden health issues before they become serious. Conditions like kidney & liver disease, diabetes, high blood pressure & overactive thyroid in cats can all be detected on a wellness screen.
It is recommended for animals aged 5 years and over

Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) What is the role of a VCA within a veterinary practice?
VCA’s work alongside veterinary surgeons and vet nurses to help provide vital nursing care. This can involve caring for inpatients (feeding, exercising), monitoring and providing supportive care, preparing theatre for operations, cleaning and preparing accommodation for animals, holding and restraining animals for treatment, laboratory work, cleaning and sterilising equipment and also helping out on reception.
You will no doubt see our VCA Charlene around the practice, you can often catch her cuddling puppies!! 😍🐶

Unfortunately we have had a badly injured cat brought into the practice this morning. It is an un neutered male, grey/blue in colour but sadly no microchip. Was found in the Epsom Walk area of Corby. If you believe this may be your cat, please call the practice on 01536 648800

Welcome to our waiting area at the surgery. We have separate areas for our feline, small furry and canine patients to wait to see the Vet or Nurse.
We have cosy blankets available to cover your cat carriers in the cat corner. 😻🐕🐇🐭
We also have a selection of toys, treats and other pet essentials.

“Gee Gee was diagnosed with Diabetes in February 2024 as she was losing lots of weight and going for a wee every 10 minutes. I took Gee Gee to the vets and they quickly supported getting Gee Gee the treatment she needed and carried out all the necessary tests. I am not sure where to start on thanking everyone at the vets for their quick action but also supporting a very upset mummy. They also put forward Gee Gee as a candidate for cataract surgery as due to the diabetes went blind within 8 months. That referral alone has given my fur baby a new lease of life! Gee Gee is like a puppy again. I know she is always in safe hands if I need to take her. Think she is a bit famous at this vet’s by now 😀”

Pet health tip for today…..Grass seeds! Now we are well and truly into summer, one thing you must check your dog for after walkies are grass seeds.
Grass seeds have sharp tips that can easily stick to your dog’s fur or even burrow into their skin.
They are most commonly found in between toes and around the ears.

Signs to watch out for include-
Excessive licking, biting or scratching
Limping
Any redness or swelling
Sneezing

Today in practice we saw a little dog for something completely different and ended up removing 8 grass seeds from his back paws!!!!
