Tick Season 🐜
This time of year we see lots of dogs and cats that have ticks, what can you as owners do to prevent them? 🤔
The best thing you can do is use a tick prevention treatment provided by your veterinary surgery. The ones sold at the vets can seem more expensive, however you can almost guarantee they will stop your pet getting ticks, unlike ones sold at pet shops. Not sure if your current parasite treatment includes tick prevention? Call and have a chat with a member of staff to see if your pets preventative health care includes tick treatment 🐶🐱
You can also buy tick removing tools, which are better than using tweezers as these will ensure the head of the tick is removed, as well as the body 🦠
Post Operative Feeding 🍽🐾
When your pet is with us for surgery, we will offer them food when they are recovering. Does it matter what food is given?
Anaesthetic can impact the body for a few days post surgery, including the digestive system. Feeding a GI Diet post surgery can prevent upset tummies and diarrhoea.
We offer PPVD Gastrointestinal, wet or dry, to your cats and dogs. This is Veterinary Diet specially formulated to support the digestive system, without removing any of the nutrients in a 'normal' diet 🦠

When walking your dog in the dark, make sure that both you and your dog are visible to others. For owners, this means avoiding dark clothing and wearing reflective safety gear such as a vest, strap or wristband. There are several options for keeping your dog visible in the dark, such as a reflective dog jacket, collar, lead, harness or even an LED light-up safety necklace. Dogs with darker fur are more difficult to see in the dark. However, even if you have a lighter coloured dog, you should make sure your dog can be seen in the dark.

🐶Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease (CIRD) also known as Contagious Canine Cough (CCC) or Kennel Cough (KC) is a very contagious disease that your dog can pick up from anywhere they see other dogs.
🐶The main symptom is a harsh dry cough. CIRD can often last for weeks but is usually self-limiting. It is important to keep your dog away from others if they are coughing.
