🌊 Ocean Spray range bowl 🌊

‘Merrows’ rope bowl~

approx 16cm-20cm diameter

Stunning rope combinations from our ‘Ocean Spray’ range.

Different combinations of these ropes have been worked together to make stunning bowls that remind us of the beautiful depth of colours we see in our Cornish sea.

We have wonderful memories of looking down to the seabed from Grandad’s boat on glassy waters as we glided along the surface, paddling in the shallow pools watching the sand eels wriggle out of the sand and take flight as we walk by, catching the waves on our wooden belly boards as the waves gently broke around us, body surfing in the tumbling waves as they came rolling towards us, or the turquoise colours we see as we dive in and glide under the surface of the sea as we laugh at each other and banter “who will get in first?”… So many lovely memories made and hopefully more to come.

These ropes have come from Grandads retired fishing gear salvaged gear from Newlyn, ghost gear rescued from the Isles of Scilly, and Grandad’s retired fishing gear that was worked out of St Ives harbour over 40 years ago.

Each rope has its own story to tell and each bowl brings back so many happy memories of our time spent around the Cornish coastline.

We love making these bowls and hope you like them as much as we do.

We have 3 sizes at the moment:

‘Nymphs’ ~ approx 13cm-15cm diameter £30

‘Merrows’ ~ approx 16cm-20cm diameter £50

‘Oceanids’ ~ approx 23cm-26cm diameter £85

Saved from going to landfill or incineration, these combination of ropes now have a new lease of life in our Cornish Spliced ‘Ocean Spray’ range.

These bowls are all unique shapes, rope combinations, textures, etc. We have named each after a mythical sea creature and they will resemble the colour of the rope combinations.

St Ives Surf Life Saving Club 2025 biathlon is coming up soon on the 28th June.

Our one of a kind (at the moment) square mat in our Traz rope has found its forever home.

Made from retired potting rope that was worked out of St Ives bay this beautiful mat is heading North to bring a piece of Cornwall into its forever home.

A mat that holds lots of memories for us , from how we brought the rope home, worked it into the square mat design, which was unravelled a few times before the shape would work 🤣
And finally seeing it come together.

Eric’s loving his Hitchens Hurler so much so he’s ordered a 2nd incase he loses the first.

Eric’s “Hitchens Hurler” was made with a ghost gear lobster pot spinner and ghost gear rescued from Prussia cove in Cornwall.
Named after one of our Coastal Adventurers who kindly donated lots of his treasures for us to repurpose.
