Just met Layla a lovely black and white female cat who's about 22 years old, and not on any medications.

I have Bertie and his stray friends again, whom I've named Blacky, Ging, and Lady. Which, it turns out is very close to what Berties owner calls them. Which is Blacky, Ginger Boy, and Madam. Well today Lady let me tickle the back of her neck, Ging, let me stroke his back, and Blacky came right up to me as I put his food in his bowl. It really is an amazing feeling when this happens.
