We are looking for a home for 8 domestic pigeon some fancy ideally all together. Or in set pairs (paired with existing mates) all healthy.

Coventry location

We are not posting pictures as we want decent homes that are interested in offering loving homes.
We will not adopt to sporting or breeders

We are still closed, unfortunately, but will notify you all as soon as we are open. During the time we have been closed, we have responded to as many messages as we can diverting animals to nearest rescue or vets. That stated, we will no longer be responding to ANY pms, and an automatic response will be provided. We really appreciate your patience and regard to the small minority who feel that you need to threaten us, and to dump animals, you can kindly go sit on a cactus 🌵

When sending a message to our page, you will be met with an automated message. We appreciate it if people can read and respond to that accordingly. We want to provide the best outcome for the pigeons requiring support. However, when people do not respond to the questions, we are limited to what we can do.

Are you good at knitting?

We previously had some amazing people make us some fantastic nests 🪹 unfortunately we are on the verge of running out as this has been 2+ years ago.

Nests provide a comfortable, safe, and supportive environment for birds to thrive, keeping them warm and safe whilst young or unable to support themselves due to injury or illness. Knitted Nests are easy to wash and help us keep up with our hygiene regulations, too :)

If anyone would be willing to donate time and wool to help save lives, that would be awesome!!

!UPDATES!
Our (neurological) issues pigeon has done very well although has some permanent damage meaning he is not suitable for release. He is looking for a home! He needs a smallish aviary home with other pigeon. He has adapted well to getting onto branches by flap climbing but is a bit clumsy he is not suitable to be allowed freefly.

Unfortunately our beautiful pigeon who had the wing broken was not suitable to operate on due to inability to balance with toes broken on the same side she wouldn't be able to counteract her weight and maintain balance as the toes were not recent injuries they had already healed and couldn't be re set to a suitable position. It's a sad situation, but we had to make the choice to pts for the welfare and life quality reasons.

Hello lovely pigeon people!
Just a little research before we attempt to get it made. We are considering making a 2024 calendar. We would love to use submissions, pictures if our rescues and photos/pictures/art by kids pigeon themed.
They would cost between
£5-10. All money made from the calender would be going directly to help our rescues and cover manufacturing cost. (If you have any reccomendations on places to get them printed that would be helpful too)
Would many people would be interested?

Today, our amazing Birmingham volunteer was out in force getting the string off pigeons feet. Unfortunately, many toes end up becoming painfully restricted, and some even fall off due to human hair and debris left by beautiful humans!

Isn't she amazing rocking her coo Coventry top too let's not even go there with the epic bag!!!

Our favourite pet shop Paws Pet Cheylesmore who support us in our pigeon passion has just flown on over and donated a 20kg bag of Pigeon mix! We have been very lucky in receiving support from them over the years and have a brilliant bond with the amazing staff.

Welcome to Coo Coventry's 📌 Post!

Here is our biography and how we work.

We are a small non profit aid who specialises in pigeon & doves. Set up in 2010 due to the lack of support for Columbidae.

What do we do?
Non operative medical care, disease & sickness treatment.
rearing of sick and injured.
rehabilitation and release.
support & advice.

Why?
Because unfortunately columbidae have long been perceived as "flying rats" and due to this there one of the most neglected animals on the planet. We simply adore them and believe that they also deserve the same compassionate care as that of our beloved domestic pets. ❤️

Due to the fact they are avian species many vets and animal charities do not have the means to provide the things needed to treat advance disease/injury and care for them. We simply fill the gap between medical care and time with assistance from knowledgeable volunteers and vets.

What we expect from a person asking for help?
Manners and respect - whilst we aim to provide a professional service we also don't take s**t we are not paid and are all voluntary so certainly won't stand for anything else.

We don't collect as we don't drive. We also cannot afford wallpaper yet alone a taxi! 😓 so we ask you kindly to bring them to us so we can concentrate our funds into saving there lifes.

Please listen to our advice if you contact us for help we will try our best to help but its vital you listen to us so we can provide the best possible support for the pigeon or dove but also meeting the welfare needs.

We rarely take baby pigeons but this guy was a special case. Fortunately it also gives my volunteer chance to get more experience on crop feeding. Helps that hes so cute!
We do take babies who are injured but this poor thing was found in a carpark and almost run over. Hes perfectly healthy otherwise!

Despite our efforts we unfortunately no longer have the dove with us :( cat bacteria can be brutal and unfortunately had done its damage to the birds system.

Beautiful pigeon has arrived in with a clean break to the wing and emaciated slim chance of fixing it :( we can no longer afford wing amputations due to lack of funds we are desperately seeking help to continue our work and understanding its challenging for everyone at the moment but a simple £1 can help massively in helping provide pain relief,antibiotics and even operations to give birds like this a second chance at life!

PLEASE READ!!!

We are desperately asking people to put pots of water💧 in gardens birds are dropping out of the sky due to dehydration!!!!! So many will die due to the lack of water available and they are to exhausted to seek local ponds that are far and few.

There isn't enough rescues to keep up with demand of animals needing support but you can help prevent unnecessary death by simply supplying water!!!! PLEASE HELP KEEP OUR WILDLIFE ALIVE!

Share if you care tell your friends and family to do the same a little kindness can make a huge difference.

Young Dove has just arrived in with minor cat bite injuries and emaciated.

Unfortunately, the bacteria from the bite has already begun attacking his system, and he may not survive. He is now on antibiotics hand feeding plan and intensive monitoring over the next 72 hours. Fingers crossed, he can fight it!

Our little older girl has gone to her new home with a previous adopted wing amputee boy who sadly lost his wife. Both are happy, and getting on this is a fantastic home for her as it's quiet and adapted to non flying 😀 (she's at the front)

Our little polish pigeon settled well already in his new home :D and the black one is a previous rescue who was adopted ages ago. I couldn't ask for a better adopter thank you, Heather 😀 ❤️
