Home needed for this 🐱 cat

I was dumped last night...

My Mommy used to love me, cuddle me, give me the bestest foods. She even let me steal that yummy stuff she would eat.

One day Mommy even bought me the prettiest collar... Oh my meowwwww... It even matched my eyes, I loved it even though it kinda made me itchy at first... I just didn't understand it.

I had lot of toys! My favorite being a little mousie . I had lots of food and a warm bed. I just knew I would spend my life with my Mommy, after all I loved her so very much!

I don't know what I did wrong??? Mommy??? Did I make you mad??? Did I love you too much??? I'm sorry if I did something wrong and I won't do it again. Mommy please open the door, it's so cold out here. Mommy I am shivering and I'm crying for you !!! Mommy can you hear me??? Mommy... I love you so much... I'll wait right here... I'll wait for you Mommy because I love you.

I'm so cold and scared Mommy but your not here??? Someone else is here picking me up Mommy. I don't know this person. I am cold Mommy, where are you??? This person says he has a warm, soft spot for me and he seems nice. He gave me food, and a warm bed... But where are you Mommy??? I miss you. Why did you put me out there??? What did I do wrong??? I just don't understand. I love you Mommy.

I'm in a new place, this person seems so nice. He says I was "dumped." I don't know what that means but he says I am safe now. He says he will love me and care for me until I find a new home, a furrever home. I don't understand what's going on but I feel safe now. He says I will find my furever home no matter how long it takes and now I won't ever be dumped again. I still don't know what I did wrong, but my new person says I am the bestest kitty ever and that I'm so sweet.

I just wanted to say I am sorry Mommy. I don't know what I did Mommy but I am sorry.

Is there a dog lover out there who could give this poor dog a home?

Missy’s appeal reached barely anyone yesterday 😩💔 … so we HAVE to try again in the hopes that someone notices her this time round and can help 💔🤞💔 We need our Staffy community to come together to help this special little old girl ❤️❤️❤️

Missy is 12 yrs old and had been terribly neglected before coming into our care 💔 She is now facing coming back to kennels IF we can’t find her a foster home - this would be devastating for her 💔

Despite her neglect, she hasn’t held that against anyone, and a more loving little Staffy you couldn’t wish to meet ❤️

🚨 We just CANNOT put this poor old girl back in kennels - she needs URGENT help!!! 🚨

I picked up yet another cat from the road at 5.25 this evening.....same stretch of road as usual. He was a very handsome large bright ginger entire male. He has been treated with respect at the end of his life. 🐈😿

I picked up yet another cat from the road today. I saw him this morning at 8.15 whilst on my way to feed the colonies. He was still there when I returned at 11.15. I parked the car and walked back to get him. I had almost reached him when a white 4×4 vehicle ran over him again. I couldn't believe it. He was on the side of the road. The driver appeared to have deliberately done this. I couldn't believe it. Anyway he has been treated respectfully now. He was a large tabby. Descanso en Paz 🕊️🌈

One year later the cat in the foreground is my boy Apollo. His brother Mercury very sadly died of panleukopenia during the outbreak in our area. There is a third...she is their sister..and my girl Paris.

Also, during the last few weeks a local gentleman has been taking an interest in The Hill Cats Colony, and has very kindly built 3 lovely houses for the cats which will prove invaluable in winter particularly. The same gentleman has also been bringing some food and feeding the cats. He has also homed a kitten who came into the colony one evening just as I arrived. Arthur also bought a large waterproof cover for the still fast disintegrating cat house. A few night ago this cover was stolen! I had tied it down very firmly...but someone took it. The same thing happened last year. I'm fairly sure that it was the men who came last year...for the carob beans for their cattle. This year they have practically destroyed my feeding area...but I have plans to move into a slightly safer place.we'll see how it goes.

I have 2 more female rescues... Cordelia is from San Pedro and was rescued last September when her family ( feline) disappeared. Cordelia was only a few weeks old. I also have Tufty who was in the main El Mojón colony along with 10 other kittens...all around 7 weeks old...on May 29th. I know people in that area who have taken in unsterilised street cats. When cats are thought to be from a home they are not sterilised from Ayuntamiento funds. The owners must pay. Some won't. Some can't. In this case any unwanted future kittens are abandoned. This is a very sad situation. Bad for the cats. Bad for the volunteers who by the very nature of being volunteers are putting ourselves into the position of being responsible. By being responsible we are not leaving defenceless kittens to fend for themselves at 7 weeks old. We pick them up, take them home, and they become friendly. Friendly kittens are suspected of having homes....so they are not funded by the town hall. If kittens are friendly and are presented for sterilisation they are refused...and the volunteer who has taken them to the vets is told " this is not a street cat. You have to pay." Surely this cannot be right.
Also, I never cease to be amazed at the people who approach me at The Hill Cats Colony.... probably because it is a recognised colony with a " Protected Colony" sign...but many people are still under the misapprehension that the town hall actually pay for the upkeep of the cats. The town hall gives us nothing at all....except sterilisations...and only then when the cat has the presentation of a feral cat. The volunteers themselves pay for what they see needs doing...if they can afford to do so. I have been fortunate to have been given some food for the last couple of years by a lady who has just left the area. The cats' stalwart friend Kev continues to support us, and a local couple have recently given me a generous donation for the cats which I am spending on things they could not usually have.

During the last months I have had no option but to increase my household. Nova was abandoned at The Hill Cats Colony on May 30th. Nova is of a similar appearance to Tony2Snowshoe who I intercepted whilst he was in the process of being abandoned at The Hill Cats Colony by an elderly Spanish man in October 2020. They are both Siamese crossbreeds and look very much alike. On my return home from having Nova spayed we were in a car accident! There was no time for me to take avoiding action. The other driver came straight out of a side road and smashed into my front wing. My car was off the road for 5 weeks and there was the usual hassle with the insurance company. Fortunately Nova and I escaped unscathed.....but poor Nova was sitting in her carrier in the street ...literally hours after her operation...for 1 1/2 hours whilst we dealt with the police and waited for the grúa and a taxi home. A couple of days later I noticed that Nova had a fungal infection on several parts of her body. Treatment is long and is ongoing. Fungal infections can be caused by stress.

The colony cats appear to be relatively healthy at the moment...touch wood a million times....since the loss of several in all local colonies.... including my own boy Mercury brother of my Paris and Apollo ...from the outbreak of panleukopenia last year. I know of one beautiful little cat who survived this illness but has been left quite badly brain damaged resulting in mobility problems due to lack of coordination. She was very lucky to have been picked up by her owners and has an excellent home where all of her needs are met. The same good people also took in Darren...a very handsome and friendly black who my colleague and I relocated 4 years ago from a business premises where his life had been threatened by the company. Darren has recently had a bad accident. He is thought to have fallen from a very high wall. One of his knees is shattered. Darren was lucky to have been found by his owners who had been looking for him for 3 days. Just goes to show that cats do not always survive falls unscathed. Darren is now on oral analgesia and anti-inflammatory drugs whilst options for his treatment are being decided upon. I believe that the quote for such an operation is between 3,000 and 4,000 euros. Sadly most of us cannot afford that sort of money.

News as I think about it. The denuncia regarding the attack upon my person by the foul-mouthed South American harridan last year does not appear to have been acted upon by the San Pedro police department.Its been 8 months since I completed the necessary paperwork at San Pedro police station...and I have heard nada. So much for justice.

Vaquito

Vaquito was my last entry in January when he was lost for several hours. He has settled well with the other cats but sadly he has stomatitis as many of my rescues have had. Vaquito has a steroid injection when necessary. He can only eat wet food...so I have to separate him from the others twice a day for his food. He's not the only on....I have 6 cats needing to eat separately...and different foods. It's quite time consuming. When I say I'm feeding the cats it's not a 10 minutes job...more like an hour! I wonder if Vaquito's problem is the reason he was abandoned.
