π± Happy International Cat Day! π±
Let's take a moment to appreciate all the love, joy and purrs that these little creatures bring into our lives! Here's new staff kitten Jessica π Share your feline friends with us in the comments π·
It's so important to get puppies used to being handled from a young age! Here's staff puppy Peri getting plenty of positive reward whilst having a little paw trim.
We recommend using treats and lots of praise, building up as slowly as necessary with no force, to handle paws, ears, eyes and mouths from the start - it makes it a lot easier and less stressful later if they need treatment / grooming πΆ
Rest assured when your pet is brought 'through the back' they are all treated like our own, and we try to make the experience as nice as possible for them π
The lovely George enjoying a fuss, groom and some tasty food whilst in with us after being unwell recently.
Cats are often stressed in the veterinary environment, so we do everything we can to make them feel safe and loved β€οΈ
Garlic Bread Kisses π
Today is #InternationalRabbitDay π°
Here is pet staff Garlic Bread.
Rabbits show affection to one another by grooming each other. If your bunnies give you bunny kisses like this then they love and trust you!

Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is an often underdiagnosed but very common issue in older cats. 1 in 4 cats over the age of 7 years are likely to be hypertensive and this can be either primary or secondary to some disease conditions, such as kidney disease and hyperthyroidism. Sometimes the first signs are vision and eye changes and left untreated most cats will go blind.
During October, for staff training, we will be offering free blood pressure checks to any of our registered feline friends over the age of 7 with our nurses. This none invasive procedure is generally well tolerated, your pet may need to stay with us for around half an hour, this is to ensure they declimatise and are as calm as possible before readings are taken.
*if your cat is diagnosed with hypertension a follow up appointment with a vet will be required to discuss the appropriate treatment, normal fees apply.
