Very sadly, last weekend, precious little Eric had to be unexpectedly put to sleep 💔 we are absolutely heartbroken as he was firmly part of our extended dog family. He was one of Maple’s best friends - she was always so excited to see him! He was a very special little man and he had a fantastic life being doted on by his owners. His best mate Boo is getting used to life without him, I know he will miss Eric as much as we all do. Sleep tight Eric 🌈

Dennis (not so much of a menace) came to stay with us again for just shy of two weeks - for a boxer he is really quite chill! He has his 10 mins zooms or a jaunt out and about and then is more than happy to cuddle on the sofa 💕 a big baby at heart. Always a gentleman with the other dogs as well

Quite a whirlwind of a weekend with spaniels Poppy and Bella, Dennis the boxer (who is just starting a long stay with us) and Tiggy a 6 month old staffy 🩶 it’s the first time we’ve had Tiggy and she’s so so sweet, going through that typical ‘land shark’ puppy phase where human limbs are delicious 🤣 but with some redirection and distraction she was no bother. Settling through the night and no accidents she was a fab young girl! Whilst the weather wasn’t ideal 🌧️ the dogs didn’t seem to mind 🐶

Woody the spaniel came to stay with us for the best part of a week - a really kind natured boy! He did some good zooms with the other dogs and was a great cuddler in the evenings 😊 he would also bring you a shoe when he was excited 🤣 we look forward to having you again Woody

14yr old greyhound Kelly came to stay for a few nights - no longer coping in kennels she refused to eat the last time. Here - with near constant company, home comforts, short walks and access to potter in the garden whenever she fancied - she ate every scrap of food I gave her 😊

When I had two messages from separate owners a few days apart asking for overlapping dates for their lovely boys I was really excited! Two gorgeous Old English Bulldogs 😍 Rolo and Vernon got on like a house on fire from the moment they met, lots of wrestling, walks and chilling together too 😊 both amazingly kind and affectionate boys, great with kids and the other dogs - what more could you ask for?

Congrats to Foxy's Perfect Paws on another fantastic dog show in the village today! And well done to Holly from The Dog Spa (fab new groomer in cranswick) for judging, not an easy task with so many lovely dogs 🐶 Always a great show and a very convenient venue for us 😊 dogs had a lovely time and Maple enjoyed a snooze in the sun towards the end!

Another black lab returning for a weeks stay 😃 Cinders has most definitely not got the memo for getting old gracefully and you’d be forgiven for mistaking her for a puppy! Despite being 10 she has the energy and enthusiasm of a much younger dog and absolutely loves playing with the other dogs and romping through the countryside 🐶 she has got a really lovely nature and fantastic recall, we enjoyed having you again Cinders 😊

Another big lad we’ve had in for a long stay - Bear the German shepherd, such a lovely natured old boy. At 13 years old and with stiff joints, Bear enjoyed short potters on the green and in our garden and lots of comfy naps! He was great with the other dogs, a real gentle giant 😊

Had fabulous boy Lucky back again for a two week stay, some lovely off lead walks and of course lots of ball throwing (he LOVES a ball!). He also loves to chase after Maple even though he’s never quite quick enough to catch her, she’s a tease! 🤣

Putting these four gorgeous dogs into one post and you may see why! 🐶🖤

I’ve had a running theme of black labradors - Luna and Inca (mother and daughter) have had daily walks for the last three weeks. We’ve also had Glen an 8 month old for two weeks boarding and Olive came back for a few nights stay too! They’ve all had so much fun and we had to take them all out together for a black lab party, especially well timed as it was Incas birthday 🥳 some videos to follow!

Filey the sprollie (springer x collie) came to stay with us for a week, a really lovely dog, stick and ball obsessed! Filey loved his dog friends, a little nervous at first but soon settled in and really enjoyed their company, had some good wrestles and chases 🐶

🐶 BOOKING FOR 2025 🐶

I know it seems early to be thinking about next year already but home boarders book up really fast!! Current clients please send me your dates ASAP to avoid disappointment, I will always prioritise fitting you in and then take new client bookings after. We still have limited room this September and plenty of space October onwards.

Some of the dogs we’ve had for short stays over the last few weeks 😊

Luna the cavalier - came to Driffield show with us and stayed for a couple of nights while her owner was in hospital

Eric and Boo the dachshunds and Nero the cockapoo - came to us for a long weekend full of cuddles!

Baxter the cockapoo - had a long weekend with us, he loves being out and about, unfortunately he couldn’t go for a swim as had an ear infection, maybe next time Bax! 🖤

And last but not least possibly the oddest pair of dogs we get - Maisie the greyhound and Mia the cavachon 😊 both absolutely lovely girls! Came to us for a long weekend

Some of the pop ins I’ve been doing the last few weeks. I only do occasional walks/visits as dedicate most of my time to our home boarders 🐶

Beanie the cat - I love going to see this sassy boy, he likes a good chat and some supervised garden time 🐱

Molly the lab and Mable the dachsund puppy - Molly and Mabel needed letting out in the middle of the day while their owners were at work, Molly had a nice walk round the village and Mable had a play in the garden 😊

Finn back with us for last minute day care recently - he does like to make himself known 🤣🤪

We always try and give all the dogs that stay with us outlets for their natural behaviours, especially breed specific ones. When Chelsea stayed with us she couldn’t be off lead as her nose works better than her ears 🙈 but spaniels love to sniff. That’s where the long line comes in handy, Chelsea gets the freedom to scent whilst being safe 😊 look at that little tail go!

Little Marley might be 13 but that doesn’t stop him having fun 😄 The big dogs gave up on this treat game but Marley cracked it in 2 mins and then proceeded to empty it of treats in a further 5 mins 🤣 he loves his food!

It was a wild Saturday night here 🤣😴

It wouldn’t be a proper pancake day if the dogs didn’t get one too! Lucky, Maple, Minnie, Boo and Eric all enjoyed their dog pancakes 🥞 Recipe; 1 mashed banana, splash of goats milk, 1 egg, Dorwest Easy-Green supplement and Dorwest Tree Barks supplement

Maple says if any other dogs would like their ears cleaned then please book in with her asap as she has a busy schedule 🤣🥰

Lovely peaceful evening here - some evening enrichment for the girls we have in and our Maple. Dog pate, yum! Lucy the spotty dog has the lickimat UFO bowl, Maple has an Amazon lickimat, Daisy has the yellow duckie mat from sodapup and Lottie the dachshund has the lickimat wobble. All but the wobble have suckers on the bottom to help keep the mat still while they use them 😊 *dogs are only fed together with owner sign off and wouldn’t usually be fed meals together. All these girls are polite and non guarding, supervised at all times

We’re very lucky to have Hutton Cranswick Dogfield 'Fieldsofpaws' close by so our dogs in for boarding can enjoy the safe off lead freedom. It’s a great field with plenty of fun things to explore including an area of long grass at the back which makes for lots of fun! 😊🐶
