Last night a black and white Female Husky was brought into the craven arms practice, the couple who found her say she was just outside Shrewsbury on the main road, the gentlemen asked around the houses near by but no one recognised her. They have been trying to contact the person on the chip details for around a week and a half now but no luck!

Entire male cat handed into the Craven Arms practice, the cat has been involved in a road traffic accident and has unfortunately had to be euthanised. Black and white mostly black and no microchip.
Was found on the Craven Arms to Bishops Castle road, about a mile down the road for the craven arms turn. Please contact the practise on 01588673354 if you think he may be yours!

We are sorry to say some of our branches are still having intermittent issues with the computer and phone systems today. This means we may not be able to gain access to your pets' medical records or our appointment diaries. This is Tiger 🐯
Tiger went missing for 3 months and luckily was found and brought into the practice. The vets scanned her for a microchip and were able to find her owners and reunite them!!

As you can see she has settled in very quickly as if she never left.

As of the 10th of June you will legally have to microchip your cats and this is the perfect example as to why it’s important!

Please remeber to keep your dogs on lead around sheep. Especially this time of year when they are, or soon to be lambing.

We have heard there have been an increase of attacks on sheep on the long mynd recently, including one fatality.

This is not only horrific for the sheep, very scary and can cause them to loose their lambs through stress, but also has a large emotional and financial impact on the farmers.

If you are unsure if there are sheep in the field you shouldn't let them off the lead and most definitely not out of your direct sight. A sheep suddenly appearing and running can easily trigger a dog into chasing it, and our well practiced recalls often are just not effective at this high adrenaline moment.

We love Nikki and she is so brilliant with all the our not so furry friends!!

Here at our Cleobury branch we offer a unique exotic service. We have Nikoletta Jackson who has a Certificate in exotic and zoo animal medicine and surgery. She has significant experience within this area of veterinary practice working within practice and also at zoos. Nikki is happy to see all non-venomous exotic animals.
To book in to see her, please call our Cleobury number on 01299 271967. Due to the high demand for this service we ask that you pay a deposit to reserve this appointment. This is refundable if you give up more than 48 hour notice of needing to cancel your appointment. This is to allow an equal and fair opportunity for all our exotic pet owners, new or current.

Over the festive period we treated 🍫 21 chocolate gobbling dogs, 🥧 8 mince pie munchers, and scoffers of several other toxins including human medications 💊

Dogs are often greedy scavengers and accidents will happen (our own pets are not immune!) but your reaction is key to a successful outcome:

📞 Call your vet immediately for advice - if you're not sure something is toxic, please call rather than waiting to see if your pet becomes ill

🗑 Gather any wrappers or packaging to help us estimate what and how much has been eaten

🤮 Do not try to make your pet sick at home

🚗 Be prepared to travel to us as soon as possible if instructed to do so

As 2024 approaches, we look back on the last year:

We have had the absolute pleasure to meet some of your newest family members 😁, some of those small puppies and kittens who we can't wait to watch grow, but some were amazing rescues who you have commited to loving when someome else couldn't 😻.

We have also been with you for the passing of some very special companions. Saying goodbye to animals who are a part of our everyday lives, who share a piece of our hearts is incredibly difficult 💔, but we are so blessed to ever to get the privilege of having them in our lives. The memories we have of them are a real blessing 🐾💞.

Here in the practice we have been so proud of our patient care assistant Natalie, who became our student veterinary nurse and started her training ☺️. She is off to a flying start passing her first exams! 🎉

We have welcome Suze our practice manager back from maternity leave, its like she has never been away and we love her being a part of our team 😍.

We have welcomed FOUR new members of staff to our front of house and patient care team AND a new veterinary nurse AND a new vet, how lucky are we 😲 🎈. They have settled in really well, and we feel so lucky to have found such great colleagues ❤️. Thank you for your patience as we have trained them or they may have taken slightly longer while serving you 🙏.

One of our vet nurses Beth got married!!! 👰❤️. She was the most beautiful bride and we wish her and her partner every happiness in their life together.

Later in the year we lost a former colleague, Jo 💞. She impacted the world in many beautiful ways and she will be remebered with love and joy ♥️ 🕊️.

And lastly we would like to thank our teams across the rest of Severn Edge, who's expertises and skills we have used not only to provide your pets with the best service we can, but also in training our team so we can continually learn and improve 🤓. A special mention also has to go to our out of hours service, our MiNight team at our Bridgnorth hospital. Who work through the night, never leaving your pets and to put it plainly have done a brilliant job. Thank you 🙏♥️♥️

So goodbye 2023, and hello 2024, we can't wait to see what you bring and what we can achieve together.
