โAre there any home boarders out there who donโt charge the earth?โ
โCharge the earthโ? Let me translate that for you, Kenneth: โWithin a price range that suits my personal budgetโ
Because let me ask you this, Kenneth, my love. How much would you consider going into work for, if your boss needed you to cover a 24 hour shift? TWENTY FOUR HOURS.
I can almost bet your bottom dollar, sugarballs, youโd be asking for a heck of a lot more for those twenty four hours than what a home boarder charges you to care for your absolute world.
And yes, you probably can find cheaper. But ask yourself, โwhy are they cheaper?โ. Maybe they are just starting out. Maybe theyโre not licensed. Maybe they donโt offer home boarding as a full time service/job. Maybe itโs a part time job. Maybe they have a second job or a second body to help.
Perhaps we can consider our wording before bashing a (no doubt small) business for what they charge to make a full time living of caring for peopleโs beloved pets. For the love and time they put in. For the finances theyโve paid out to ensure your dog is safe in their home. Perhaps courses theyโve paid for to understand your dogs needs better. Perhaps itโs their main income or theyโre running the show single handedly. Perhaps theyโve been in the industry a while and understand exactly what it takes to fully care for some elseโs โbe-all-and-end-allโ of whom they wouldnโt think twice about trading in their first born child for. And the money they choose to pour in to their business to ensure your dog has the best care.
So, Kenneth, before you type those words โdoesnโt charge the earthโ, think what youโd want your boss to pay you for an extra long, full on, tiring, challenging, shiftโฆ. with overtime.
AND SCENE!
