We 💛 hydrotherapy
Norma dog is gonna be 10 in a couple of days. She currently has no arthritis or issues (aside from a bit of muscle weakness from 5 years of no walks in her first home) so we’re doing hydrotherapy for maintenance and strength. Older dogs don’t need to decline at the rate you see many of them do. Not enough vets understand the link between pain and behaviour. (Those vets that do are SUPERSTARS and we must cherish them!). A dog may not respond to having their legs manipulated in the clinic but may communicate with behaviour in every day life. Dogs in pain may exhibit reactivity, may be destructive, may not rest, may rest too much, may not eat their dinner, may resource guard, may growl when someone approaches them, may run from their harness, may bite and they may still run around and chase balls etc etc I have heard way too many vets telling can’t clients their dog is trying to be top dog!
