Busy in the workshops with carriage servicing. The coach is having some general maintenance and a paint touch up ready for winter storage and the competition carriage is being serviced ready for the indoor season.

The new Fenix Water obstacle is in the testing phase. Unfortunately it seems to be shrinking our 16.2hh KWPN horses down to 12.2hh Hackney ponies!

The latest restoration to leave the Fenix workshops in Devon. This Ralli Car by Jackett Brothers, Swansea is now owned by the family of the original makers. At Fenix we believe every carriage has an interesting story. We enjoy the research and every restoration is accompanied by a booklet showing the before, during and after photos.

Team Fenix AKA MINI adventurers are nearly halfway through The Motoscape Banger Rally. MINI is behaving well so far, two warning lights now out (hoping we don’t see too many more) Regular oil top ups and kind words seem to be keeping it happy. Just over 1000 miles in. We are trying to fit in as many sights and miles as possibly. Yes we are having huge amounts of fun but there is a good cause too. 12yo Jamie was inspired by the extreme driving at the London International Horse Show. He was given his first driving lesson at Fenix in February 2022. His mother Sarah jokes it was a very expensive Birthday present as Jamie is now hooked on driving. In August 2022 we trained his wonderful 17yo racing/riding pony Georgie to drive. Georgie loves her new role and the three of them have been very successful at club and young driver level. Mum Sarah comments “Jamie is completely committed to the driving and Mark has been a total inspiration - brilliant teacher and mentor - there is no way he would have got this far without him.”

Car or horse?……… BOTH. We love a challenge here at Fenix, and September 2023 has just become one! Mark and Jo have entered a banger rally to Prague to raise money for the incredible The CIP Project and now quite unexpectedly our lovely new horse Rebel has qualified for the British Carriagedriving National Championships. We have two days to get home from Prague to get ready for the Championships!

Something a little different in the Fenix workshops…………..

The Change Is Possible Project is a not for profit organisation based on the Blackdown Hills. This incredible project delivers transformational workshops at their outdoor retreat centre. They also run workshops in schools, colleges and prisons across the UK. We want to support and raise awareness of the fantastic work the team at The CIP Project do to support those in need during difficult times in their lives.

Mark, Jo, Shane and Sasha have entered a banger rally to Prague in September 2023. The trip is funded by themselves and any money raised will go to the CIP Project. If we raise £500 Mark has promised to wear and inflatable lobster costume and £1000 will see him as a pink unicorn!

Please help us raise some money for this incredible project that changes many lives for the better, and we will try to to get our banger (Jo’s 2004 Mini cooper S) to the ferry………and hopefully Prague!

12yo Jamie and his pony Georgie, the first to drive our new cones bridge. Jamie has been staying at Fenix for the weekend and has helped us to build the bridge, only fair that he was the first to have a drive over it. 😁 Watch this space for our latest Obstacle in construction 🐳
