Although I have always loved dogs, I became interested in dog grooming about 8 years ago when we got our Shih Tzu.
We now have 3 Shih Tzus and it was becoming very expensive to get them groomed so I bought a set of clippers and started doing them myself. After a few mishaps, I started to get the hang of it and improved.
A friend asked me to do her dog, and despite the fact that the dog nutted me and gave me black eye, I was hooked.
I researched several online courses, enrolled and passed them.
I started watching many videos on youtube, facebook etc, to hone my skills and learn new skills, tricks, helpful hints.
I also bought and read as many dog grooming books as I could get my hands on and regularly reread them.
I have since been training myself on other breeds of dogs such as spaniels, mixed breeds, Bedlingtons, Bichons and Collies.
Currently I am only grooming part time but watch this space for exciting news 😀
