Unfortunately we started the year with a vet visit for Minnie and Daisy as they are a bit poorly. The total came to £138 with a follow up in 2 weeks

We would like to wish everyone a very safe and happy New Year and to thank you all for your support in 2024.

However, we have one last request of the year: please, consider wildlife, this evening.

The heart-breaking effect of fireworks on wildlife, including increased heart rate and body temperature, demonstrate the panic animals feel, during these events. Many of the animals' first response will be to flee, but with fireworks surrounding them, the risk of injury and road traffic accidents increases.

You can help limit the impact on wildlife by:
🎆Attending public fireworks displays, only.
🪵Creating shelters by leaving log piles and leaves for small mammals to hide in.
⛔️Reducing your speed on the road.

Toffee and Caramel (hidden) all cozy-ing up for an early New Years Eve.
We will be tuning in at 7pm to Classic FM for the pets classics. Which designed to be a calming during the fireworks.

"Just popping out to remind everyone that some of us little hogs may be old enough to be away from mum, but might not be big enough to survive winter, so, please, give us a helping hand if you see us out during the day"

If you're concerned about a hedgehog you see during winter, you can assess their body condition in two ways :

❓Are they larger than a grapefruit?
❓Are they rounded, like a ball?

If they appear elongated, like an aubergine, this can indicate they are underweight. If you're unsure, please don't hesitate to contact your nearest wildlife rescue for advice🦔.

🚨 Appeal for vet funds!!! 🚨

Hi all we are appealing for funds to go towards are vet bills. Recently we have had 3 trips amounting to over £350. Animals can get sick, they can have accidents, have underlying genetic disorders etc, but we will always ensure they get the expert medical treatment they deserve while in our care. We run mostly self funded, however, to continue what we do we need help to cover these costs.
