From today, Tuesday 31 December in light of the increasing cases of Influenza and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), Darent Valley Hospital is reintroducing enhanced infection prevention measures. We greatly appreciate everyone’s cooperation to protect patients, visitors and staff.

•Unless medically exempt, all visitors will be required to wear a hospital-provided surgical mask in wards and departments.
•Patients, where possible, will also be encouraged to wear masks.

We kindly ask for your understanding and support as we work together to minimise the spread of these viruses. Do not visit if you feel unwell. If you’ve had diarrhoea or vomiting, wait at least 72 hours after symptoms resolve before visiting. Please continue to use the alcohol hand rub provided to clean your hands before and after visiting a ward or department and wash your hands with soap and water after using the toilet to reduce the risk of spreading infections.

We have been investigating a report of indecent exposure near and can now release a computer generated image of a man our officers would like to speak to.

The incident happened as a woman was walking towards along the Valley Path near Mill Lane, between 12.30 and 12.46pm on Monday 4 November 2024. A man who was walking towards the victim is alleged to have exposed himself before continuing past without speaking. The suspect is described as being white, aged between 40 and 50 years old and about 5ft 10ins. He was wearing a camouflage-style jacket and dark green trousers.

Our investigators have been completing a number of enquiries including the examination of CCTV in the area. The victim has now been able to assist them with producing a computer generated image of the man she saw. Anyone who recognises the man in the image, or the description of the suspect, is urged to call our appeal line on 01622 604100, quoting crime reference 46/187213/24.
