🚓👏 A Heartfelt Congratulations to Sgt Yates and PD Gunner on Their Retirement! 👏🚓

On Sunday, August 11th, we celebrated the retirement of Sgt Yates and his loyal partner, PD Gunner, from West Mercia Police Dogs after an incredible 30 years of dedicated service. Although PD Gunner served for a shorter time, he has made an immense contribution to keeping our communities safe. On their final shift, PD Gunner proved his unwavering commitment by locating 3 items from a burglary—what a way to finish a remarkable career!

We extend our deepest thanks to both Sgt Yates and PD Gunner for their service, dedication, and bravery. Enjoy your well-deserved retirement, and thank you for all that you’ve done to protect and serve! 🐾👮‍♂️ 💙

Well done Nash, still the best name for a Police dog

Overnight in the north of the county, the Roads Policing Unit has pursued a stolen vehicle after it failed to stop. The vehicle was then found abandoned.

PD Nash has arrived and has tracked from the stolen vehicle, through woodland, down a road and into further woodland where he has located the suspect hiding in a hedgerow. 🌳🫣

Due to PD Nash’s demeanour, the suspect has wisely surrendered. 🦈

One male arrested for Failing to Stop, Dangerous Driving and on suspicion of Theft of Motor Vehicle.

PD Nash and dad were on 🔥 last night….

The first incident was a report of males chasing people and threatening them with baseball bats and causing damage. Two suspects had been sighted entering a park in the city. PD Nash and handler have then entered the park after the suspects and Nash has used his powers of persuasion to detain the males who have then surrendered. 🙊 PD Nash has then been tasked to conduct a property search for any discarded weapons and has located a baseball bat hidden amongst the stinging nettles. Two males arrested on suspicion of Affray and Possession of Offensive weapon. 👊🏼

Later in the night, the duo were off again and got sent to a report of suspicious males in balaclavas checking car doors on a residential street. On the arrival of PD Nash, the males have run off. 🏃‍♂️ PD Nash then tracked from where the males were last seen, eventually locating two males hiding in bushes. 🌳 One male found to be in possession of stolen property.

That’s two more arrested on suspicion of theft!

What a night 😴😴 Well done team.
