WOW!!!!! What a transformation…..this horse has been suffering terribly with constant runny eyes. Originally it was thought to be blocked tear ducts, a veterinarian flushed the ducts with saline solution but there was no improvement. The eyes were particularly bad after a day in the field and the skin on her face was sore from the constant running.
3 consecutive days in the salt room and the difference is astonishing, the second picture is straight from the field. She will have a monthly top up session in the salt room but for now, she will enjoy not having irritable eyes 😊

*** WATER TREADMILL SESSIONS ***

The water treadmill can be used for many reasons

- muscle strength and development. It helps to build core strength evenly, if your horse has been out of work, struggles to build muscle or just needs a hand at this time of year because exercising is becoming difficult.
- mental stimulation. The treadmill can offer a different experience to normal ridden work and is something else for your horse to enjoy and keep fit
- post injury exercise. It can provide a controlled environment to work your horse whether it is at the beginning of its rehabilitation or coming towards the end and needs to increase fitness. Each horse is treated as an individual and the sessions are tailored to your horses needs.

Preparation before going on the treadmill includes a thorough washing of the feet and limbs and bandaging the tail up to ensure no loose hair gets in to the treadmill.
