SO PLEASED to share this video, do you remember Bear, he developed a awful fear of the back of the car, this as been going on for months Jeff & myself got him going in with the ramp but he wasn’t that happy with it.
Laura & Rhian have persevered and today he forgot what he was scared off and got his jump back 💪💪💪👏👏👏👏🤗🤗🤗

As most of you know we have a large Home from Home dog family and grooming is something that is so important for your dogs and for you. Grooming is a lovely way to build a good relationship with your 4 legged friend.
Also checking that their are no lumps and bumps developing that are not seen under there coat.

This evening I have done a 1 to 1 with Helen & Jim
Helen came with Jim for the first time when Jim was only 9 weeks old, he is now a very large male adolescent Labrador turning 1 year old this week.

Even though Helen has kept up her training in class and 1 to 1’s when class was to hard to get to.
Jim from about 6 mouth’s has gone through a really difficult phase as nearly all dogs do throughout this stage.

This evening with no distractions Jim did some fantastic heal work and a perfect recall, we was able to see all that hard work starting to pay off.

When you start with a new puppy it’s usually quite easy until they until they get a bit older and develop their own own personality.

DONT give up, keep going, all that training you are successful at when they are young, will come out later on when they have had time to mature.

ADVANTAGES OF TRAINING OUTDOORS

Training your dog outdoors exposes them to distractions.

Different noises and smells makes training harder but learning them to focus on you and the commands they are learning is something you will need everyday.
Being outdoors enables you to give your dog a natural break during your training time, letting them have a sniff and walk round a good switch off from the work they are doing.

It may not always be the best weather 🌂🧤🧣🌦️☔️☀️🕶️but being out and about with your best friend builds your relationship, builds confidence and is more healthy.

RECALL and COMING AWAY from distractions be it another dog or a person is one of the most important exercises you can teach your dog.

This is Etta she is now 18 months old, she came into my puppy class at around 12 weeks old.

We train all our puppy exercises with play making sure her mum was the most exciting thing around, not the other people or dogs in the group.

Sian has been very dedicated to Etta’s training and as you can see it definitely pays off.
As Etta is running back to Sian away from the man and his dog in the distance, she adds a STOP gaining that extra control.

Well done you two, lovely to see you have a happy forever friend
that you can take anywhere.
