Last Night at Tees Valley International Film Festival five stars from the film Home - Film Documentary on Pigeon Racing attended the Gala Screening at Arc in Stockton ARC Stockton Arts Centre

Per Ardua Pigeon.

Per Ardua was sent to Gibraltar to serve during 1944 but suffered homesickness and decided to desert.

After being cooped up for thirteen days to nest, she was allowed out for her first flight, promptly decided Gibraltar was not for her and flew 1,000 miles back to her loft in Gillingham.

Rather than receive punishment for her actions Per Ardua was lauded for a remarkable flying performance; she covered the distance in what, at most, could only have been twelve days, albeit arriving in a state of total exhaustion.

This flight beat the previous record for a 1,000 mile flight by approximately sixteen days 👑
