I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to Jo Tetlow for all her help and advise yesterday.
I came to the yard yesterday afternoon to find this baby with white foaming snot dripping from his nose, a cough, lethargic and slight laboured breathing..
I immediately got the vet out, but even the vet was unsure what we was dealing with. He had slight temperature and was given antibiotics. Told to monitor over night.
I watched him on the camera for another half hour and wasn't happy. After speaking to Jo, she advised to get the vet back out as sounded and looked more like choke. Various calls later to the vet I asked for him to be tubed to make sure nothing was stuck. I quickly bunged him into the back of my landrover and drove him the 5min trip to our vets.
He was tubed and re checked. The tube produced some grass which could have been the cause, but my vet then said he may have been stung to cause ro the issue. He was then given an anti inflammatory and told to monitor.
As soon as he was home and back with mum he was straight to the milk bar (huge relief) and this morning it's as if he was never poorly. ❤️❤️
From talking to Jo who had experienced a simlar thing happening before, it made me realise that you can request things to be done even if the vet hasn't suggested it. (I should have known better being an ex veterinary nurse, but I think panic set in.) All is well thank goodness ❤️❤️
One very happy boy ❤️❤️

This boy is very bold and confident. Extremely friendly and always runs to greet us all.
Someone will be very lucky to have this sweet boy join them.
Marshvally Royal Spirit
This little chap has finally found the milk bar himdlself over the weekend. He seems to be doing well, still on antibiotics twice a day (which he now hates me for😢) hopefully heading in the right direction though. Will be speaking to our vet later to let them know his progress ❤️❤️
Everyone keep everything crossed for this little guy🤞🤞
Marshvally Pingu
This little chap was born a dummy foal, meaning that he was born with no suck reflex, very sleepy and not really knowing he was now earthside.
Hes had the madigan squeeze several times which help simulate being born again and so as such is supposed to "reset" them.
This has perked him up loads and we now have a suck reflex. However he's still struggling to bond with mum and can't find the milkbar himself. So I'm having to feed him hourly.
Turned them onto the yard under vets advice with the other mare and foal and he's now interested in mums udder 🤞🤞🤞 this means we are on the road to recovery.
We have decided to name him
Marshvally Pingu ❤️❤️❤️
