We’ve got some exciting ideas in the works at Delightful Dog Days, and I wanted to share a few of the projects I’m currently planning behind the scenes. 🐾💛

🐕 Monthly Charity Walks
I’m hoping to introduce a monthly charity walk on a Sunday, held in different locations around Doncaster where we regularly walk dogs.
• £5 per dog
• Around 1–2 hours long
• Each walk will support a different charity

A lovely way to enjoy a walk together, meet other dog owners, and give something back at the same time.

🐾 Doggy Socials
I’m also planning to run doggy socials twice a month on a Saturday.
• £5 per dog
• A relaxed, managed environment
• Great for dogs who enjoy being around others with sensible supervision

🚶‍♀️ Group Training Walks
Alongside this, I’ll be introducing group training walks, also twice a month on a Saturday, alternating with the doggy socials.
These will focus on:
• £15 per dog
• Loose lead walking
• Disengagement from distractions
• Potential recall practice
All in a controlled but real-world environment, with me there to guide and support you throughout.

These are all still in the planning stages, but I’m really excited about creating more opportunities for community, learning, and enjoyment for both dogs and their humans.

If any of these sound like something you’d be interested in, keep an eye on the page or feel free to pop me a message. More details coming soon! 💛🐶

Today is National Pet Travel Safety Day, a great reminder that whether you’re popping to the vets, heading out on an adventure, or travelling for holidays, keeping our pets safe on the move is essential 🚗🐾

Here are our top tips for travelling safely with your pets:

🐶 Use proper restraints
Dogs should always travel secured, whether that’s in a crash-tested harness with a seatbelt, a travel crate, or a secured boot setup. Loose dogs are a risk to themselves and everyone in the car.

🐾 Build positive associations
For some dogs, travel can be stressful. Start small, reward calm behaviour, and build up gradually so the car becomes a positive place, not something to fear.

💧 Plan regular breaks
On longer journeys, factor in rest stops for water, toilet breaks, and a chance to decompress with a sniff. Travel is tiring, mentally as well as physically.

🌡️ Never leave pets unattended in vehicles
Even on cooler days, cars can quickly become dangerous. If you can’t take your pet with you, it’s safer to leave them at home.

🆔 Check ID before travelling
Make sure collars, tags and microchip details are up to date before any journey, just in case the unexpected happens.

🐱 Don’t forget other pets
Cats and small animals should travel in secure, well-ventilated carriers, with familiar bedding to help them feel safe and settled.

Safe travel isn’t about perfection, it’s about planning ahead and setting our pets up for success. If your dog struggles with travel or you’d like help making journeys calmer and safer, feel free to get in touch 💛

As New Year’s Eve rolls around, I just wanted to take a moment to really say thank you. 💛

This year has had its challenges, its lessons, and so many moments of growth. From training wins and breakthroughs to the quieter moments of reflection, it’s been a year I’ll always be grateful for.

I also want to say a huge thank you to Charlie, Chloe, Jo and Emma for everything you do (or did do) to help keep the business running. I genuinely couldn’t do this without you.

A special thank you to Emma for introducing salon grooming into Delightful Dog Days as Delightful Dog Grooming and helping grow that side of the business, and to The Grooming Parlour for welcoming us in and allowing us to use their facilities for salon grooming. Your support has meant so much to us.

And of course, thank you to all of our clients, both new and long-standing, for trusting us with the care of your pets. Being invited into your dogs’ lives, homes and journeys is something I never take for granted.

As we head into the new year, I hope you and your pets are able to enjoy a calm, cosy end to the year. Whether that means early nights, extra cuddles, enrichment activities, or supporting noise-sensitive pets through fireworks (that's what I'll be doing with Queenie), there’s no right or wrong way to welcome the New Year.

Here’s to stepping into the year ahead with kindness, compassion and intention for ourselves and our dogs. ✨🐾

Wishing you all a peaceful New Year’s Eve and a gentle start to the year ahead. 💛

P.s. Queenie is starting early with the booze!!

As the year comes to a close, I’ve been taking a moment to reflect on what this past year has taught me and what I’m hoping for in the one ahead. 💛🐾

A few lessons I’ve learned this year:

✨ That I can rely on an incredible team to help keep the business running smoothly, and I don’t have to do everything alone.
✨ That I’m far more resilient than I often give myself credit for, even when things feel tough or overwhelming.
✨ And that I truly have the best clients in the world. Your support, kindness and trust mean more than I can ever put into words.

Looking ahead to the upcoming year, a few gentle goals:

🌱 Continuing to work on a better work/life balance (this one seems to be an ongoing journey!).
🌱 Spending more one to one training time with Queenie and Sasha, focusing on their individual needs.
🌱 And starting Queenie on a healthy weight loss journey… wish us luck! 🙈

No pressure, no perfection, just small steps forward with a lot of compassion along the way.

Thank you for being part of this journey with me. I’m excited to see what the next year brings. 💛✨

When it comes to reaching goals, especially with our dogs, consistency will always matter more than perfection. 💛🐾

So many people put pressure on themselves to do everything “right” every single time. Perfect timing. Perfect walks. Perfect training sessions. But real life doesn’t work like that, and neither do dogs.

What actually makes the biggest difference is showing up again and again, even on the days where things feel messy or progress feels slow. A few minutes of practice most days will always beat one “perfect” session followed by weeks of nothing.

Consistency builds trust.
Consistency builds understanding.
Consistency gives dogs the chance to learn without pressure.

And the same applies to us as humans too. You don’t need to get everything right to move forward. You just need to keep going, adjust when needed, and be kind to yourself along the way.

Progress isn’t about perfection. It’s about commitment, patience and doing the best you can with the day you’re having.

If this resonates with you and your journey with your dog, you’re definitely not alone. 💛

There’s something really special about this in between time. ✨

That quiet space between Christmas and the New Year where things slow down just a little.

Right now, I’m enjoying some much needed downtime with my little family, catching up on admin, and very happily working my way through all the lovely goodies my amazing clients gifted me for Christmas (seriously, I’m so spoiled!). 💛

I’m also still popping out for the odd dog walk, training walk or training session, which has been a really nice way to keep a gentle routine while still allowing space to rest and recharge.

It’s been a chance to reflect on the year, reset, and gently plan for what’s ahead, without rushing or putting pressure on myself.

I hope you’re all finding a moment to rest, recharge and enjoy this slower pace too, whether that’s with your pets, your people, or just a quiet cup of tea.

What does this in between time look like for you? 🐾✨
