We are getting quite desperate now for Bolo, he really needs a foster or forever home 🙏

Bolo is 4 years old looking for a foster or forever home.

Bolo is full of so much love and loyalty for his family. He loves to play with small balls and chase things and play with other dogs.

Since the arrival of an unexpected baby in the home he has become more and more anxious and we feel he would be happier in an adult home although he has never reacted to the baby but has just become more nervous and anxious since the baby has arrived.

We feel the best home for Bolo would be in a quiet household as he does not like a busy noisy home. He just wants to go for a long walk and then cuddle up on the sofa with his family.

Bolo is fine with older kids so long as they are calm as he would become worried and anxious by a lot of noise.

Bolo does not show signs of food aggression, and eats well alongside the other dog. He is food orientated when training.

Bolo lives with a cat, and he seems relatively unbothered by him. Bolo does like to chase the cat outside, but it’s more in a playful manner than aggressive. They sit indoors together with no issues.

Bolo is house trained and has always slept pretty well through the night.

Bolo can be left for short periods of time with no separation anxiety.

We feel Bolo may gain some confidence from living with another dog, but he would be absolutely fine as an only dog.

He is about 18 kg and is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.

Long post alert, sorry!!!

I want to speak openly and honestly - honesty is the best policy right? We are struggling to get the money together for the bills at the end of the month. We need to find £3,000 to cover the costs of supporting the dogs 😱

Let’s break the costs down 🫣

🇬🇧 6 Dogs in kennels in the UK: boarding fees = £1500 😱 (ps we never intend for dogs to travel to kennels in the UK, they are all there because their homes fell through and we have no suitable foster homes, this is our rescue back up)

🇨🇾 43 dogs in boarding in Cyprus: boarding fees = £3000

💉🇨🇾 Vet bills in Cyprus are always at least £1500, but that is obviously dependent on what the dogs medical needs are that month

💉🇬🇧 Vet bills in UK are sporadic, covering foster / boarding dogs, can sometimes get to £1000 / month

🚗 🇬🇧UK travel costs, moving dogs to kennels (rescue back up) this is dependent on the need but based on 2 dogs needing to move a month = £500

Those are our major expenditures, as you can see they are large. I can do a proper breakdown later for all to see if that would help for last month alone.

This is why we are struggling and always asking for help 😩 we have regular donations coming in, and lots of different ways people can support us (link in the comments to that area of our website) but the regular incomings are far less than the outgoings 😩😩

That being said we are soooooo grateful to all those who have already set up regular donations, play out SSAR Club, play our lottery, buy raffle tickets, participate in our auctions, send off print cartridges etc etc 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

We know we have too many dogs under our care and we try our hardest to promote them. But adoptions are so slow. And sadly there is always a need to help dogs….but we are at breaking point now and that is it….we cannot take any more. We have daily messages asking for our help so it is incredibly stressful for us to say no 😭

So….

I don’t suppose anyone has a rich uncle? 😂

Jokes aside; if anyone has any fundraising ideas or thoughts on how we can increase donations we would really welcome them!

We are all here for the same reason for the love of dogs (if you don’t you may be on the wrong page 😂)

After waiting such a long time, Lydia finally thought she was boarding the freedom flight....then she was removed....then she was added to the next freedom flight....then she was removed again! Seriously if you are not committed then please don't apply! It breaks not only the dogs hearts but also the volunteers who are so invested in every single dog. Also when we reserve a dog for an adopter / fosterer it means we stop promoting that dog. If that falls through then there is no time to promote again to find a home for them to go to on that flight. And so another flight goes without them!!

This beauty is Lydia! She is the best girl and keeps getting overlooked. She needs a forever home or foster offer.

She is a medium-sized girl (currently 20kg) and around 2.5 years old.

She is good with cats and dogs and walks nicely on the lead.

She is very people oriented and loves every person she meets.

Lydia is currently in Cyprus looking for a home in UK. She will be neutered, vaccinated, chipped, treated for parasites, with her own pet passport and rescue back up from Saving Souls Animal Rescue.
