Fabulous day training yesterday with GB POD Members Training Group.

Lots learned, lots to work on.
I believe as a Coach, I owe it to my clients to keep learning, keep myself motivated in becoming the best driver / trainer that I can be. That’s the only way I can be the best coach that I can be, my clients deserve the best.

This is myself driving, Gemma Owens and Charlotte Norcliffe was backstepping for the first time ! What a superstar she was !!
The horse is Trix, we’ve been together since he was a yearling that we bought from the Welsh pony and cob sales. He’s actually 18yrs this year and going the best that he has done in his whole driving career. I am an experienced horse trainer but has taken him this long to learn flying changes in the carriage. His breeding is 7/8ths Welsh D and 1/4 Trotter. The trotter has given him exceptional variance of paces within trot, however, canter has been incredibly difficult for him. I find a huge privilege to train my horses from beginning and I’m useless at selling them, so I enjoy learning different ways to train different horses and ponies. However, I do love my welshies As, Bs,Cs and of course Ds.

So incredibly proud of our carriage driving team at their event at Tickhill Arena with Indoor Carriage Driving UK.
It was a very windy and cold day, but our spirits couldn’t have been any higher with everyone throughly enjoying themselves. Thank you so much to everyone that came to support us, it really does mean a lot.
Our new jackets looked fantastic and increased our teams confidence, so much so that I drove a clear cones course and finished to the second on the required time.
Everyone successfully completed the 3 phases of, Paces and Precision, Cones and 4 Obstacles. As we all know in this sport it is very easy to be eliminated.
The organisers of the event Anne Chambers and her team of volunteers were amazing and gave all our drivers little pieces of advise that’s both helpful and supportive.
I believe, carriage driving as a sport or hobby builds friendships and communities that do help and support each other.
Thank you to Sport England and The National Lottery Community Fund for their support and belief in this project.
For anyone that thinks we just sit there and it’s not a form of exercise can come and stand on the back of me and Trix, or hear me and Charlotte Norcliffe puffing to get our breath back after each obstacle.

It was our absolute pleasure to meet Beau yesterday and share with her our wonderful sport of carriage driving. What a natural driver Beau was and made driving cones for the very first time look easy !!! I was SO Impressed

A massive congratulations to our team drivers at the weekend competing Indoor Carriage Driving UK Wendy Holmes and Izzy Wiz Crawford competing as drivers for the first time were AMAZING, Julie Fox-McGowan, Eve Holmes Charlotte Norcliffe and Wendy Holmes backstepping for the first day were equally as amazing !!!
Carriage driving is a team event that needs a great support crew too. Thank you Andy Halbert for towing the carriage there and back that was a massive help.
Also thank you to G.O.Equestrian Club CIC and there staff for their continued support of our carriage driving team.
Most importantly, thank you Pam Marshall and Gemma-Lucie Owens for the loan of Dylan and Tommy for the day.
Thank you Jane Wilson for the great photos in the cones phase, it’s so hard to take photos when you’re competing.
Apologies if I’ve forgotten anyone, we do appreciate all the support we get.

Huge huge CONGRATULATIONS!!! too our Carriage Driving For our Community carriage driving team that competed at their first indoor driving competition. We couldn’t have done this without the financial support from Sport England and the National Lottery. For me personally, it’s the realisation of a dream that I had 4 years ago. To make the most inclusive sport, inclusive to everyone by providing my ponies, harness and carriages to our club members to give access to this incredible sport. I couldn’t be more proud of our team. Bring on Tickhill !! Sunday 8th December!!

Great day today at G.O.Equestrian Club CIC Im so incredibly proud of our carriage driving team for all passing their competency to compete with Anne Chambers. We are so so excited about starting our carriage driving competing career with Carriage Driving For Our Community and Indoor Carriage driving.
