Declarations are in for Monday 17th here at Exeter, and we’re set for an exciting afternoon of racing, highlighted by the hugely promising Lulamba, who makes his debut over fences in the Beginners’ Chase!

Strong field sizes have held up across the rest of the six-race card, helped by the recent rainfall on Haldon Hill, which has freshened the track nicely. Today’s going is officially described as Good to Soft.

Following a course inspection today, the going remains unchanged as Firm, Good to Firm in Places (Unraceable). Only 11mm of rain was recorded since last Thursday and despite the course being watered and verti drained in the lead up, conditions remain unchanged.
Whilst there is some rain forecast over the coming week, the amounts are insufficient to improve conditions to allow us to go racing.

BHA confirms all-Hurdle card at Taunton on Thursday 13 November

The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has today confirmed that the two Steeple Chases scheduled to take place at Taunton’s fixture on Thursday 13 November have been abandoned and replaced by two additional Hurdle races.

With the ground at Taunton currently Firm, Good to Firm (in places), the decision to abandon the Steeple Chases has been made in agreement with the BHA Course Inspectorate to enable Taunton to concentrate all available watering efforts on the Hurdle course, which will give the fixture the best possible chance of going ahead.

Entries for the six-race card will remain as normal, closing at noon on Friday 7 November.
