George has spent more years than he cares to remember working as a police dog instructor, Jacqi is a canine behaviourist, both qualified with canine first aid. nce instructor, she is also a volunteer dog walker for The Cinnamon Trust. The cross over between training and behaviour correction is a very thin line, often a trainer can exacerbate what appears as bad behaviour because they don't necessarily understand where the behaviour has come from, or how to correct it. George & Jacqi will both come to your session and their own dogs have a big part to play too. If your dog has socialisation problem or is reactive to dogs, Otter is used to
help, Jacqi will read his body language as well as your own dogs, ensuring that your dog is always feeling safe and un-threatened. If you're new to training you will observe Minky and then work with her, its really good for you to learn and gain confidence with a dog that can do it, you'll then fully understand what your dog could do with just 5 minutes training a day. Radar works with dogs afraid of larger breeds, in this scenerio Jacqi works Radar at a distance comfortable for your dog whilst George works with you and your dog. New to the team is labradoodle Womble. She's only a pup so hasn't done much work yet but she has been instrumental in helping another youngster finds his confidence. The aim is for her to train up and allow Minky to retire in a couple of years. Jacqi & George don't spend the first session going through paperwork, anything they need to know will come out during conversation and because they read dogs, they will get information from your dog to. If any additional information is needed, that will be done outside of your session and there is no charge. You will receive follow up notes after your first session, as well as useful handouts. They have devised their own progressive training programme for you to follow if you wish and it covers a bit more than obedience training. If your dog is a family dog, you are all more than welcome to the session. Sessions are 1:1 at suitable training venue with. They like training to take place out in the big wide world, dealing with anything and everything within the environment. 1:1 means no waiting around for other dogs and you get exactly what you need. Some problems occur at home so they also do house visits as well as pre-jab puppy visits as so much work can be done with a puppy before they venture out. Almost individual exercise today, Minky came to work, socialised with a 11 week old pup then showed the new parents how to do obedience work which they practised with her, home for a warm up then put out a difficult track for Radar, he found me before I froze, home for another warm up then out with Womble & Otter.

Womble decided she would take pride of place while supervising Otter searching for the ball, which was found by me!

Womble went to work today, first time we've used her for desensitisation work, she didn't let us down.

Radar worked with this little chap last week, he gets very reactive when he sees other dogs and is especially frightened of larger breeds. His mum quickly learnt how to help and he was soon comfortable with Radar working quite close.

We wanted to expose him to a different dog, as you can see he is really comfortable in Womble's company.

Next time he has to deal with two of ours, which two though🤔

Down time for our four today and a little trip to Ely Dog Field where they had great fun.

Other than mud (where isn't there mud at the moment) the place is well kept, lots of poo bins, boot brush, fresh water, water to clean them, picnic benches, agility activities and a toy box.

We will be returning.
