Hi to all my lovely customers and followers.

Due to increased operating costs, we are having a price increase that will start on 1st February 2022.

The price increase is as follows:

🐾 ✂️ Full grooms currently £44 or less will increase by £3

🐾 ✂️ Full grooms currently £45 or more will increase by £5

If you have any queries regarding the price increases, please send me a message. 😀

Hi all Gillian at CHH customers & followers..

As you will be aware by now, from Boxing Day mainland Scotland will be operating under Tier 4 Covid regulations...

But there's no need to panic with regards to your handsome hounds appointment, as going by Scottish Government Business Guidlines, Tier 4 still allows us to operate as we have been, since returning from the initial National Lockdown we had earlier on in the year.. see following:

Other businesses and workplaces that can stay open in Level 4:
pet shops, suppliers of animal feed and bedding, veterinary practices, mobile vets, veterinary laboratories, wholesalers of vet medicines/supplies, pet crematoria, equestrian centres and other direct activities required to prevent or treat animal suffering including grooming, exercising and general care including day care

If you'd prefer to delay or cancel an existing appointment during this time please contact me, as we have customers who couldn't perhaps get in as soon as they wanted to..

Merry Christmas even if it isnt the kind we hoped for and all the best for a Happy New Year when it comes.

Today is my 1 year anniversary of starting grooming at Claire’s Handsome Hounds. This handsome boy, Bailie, was my very first client.

Today I had beautiful Jinx, the Newfoundland, in for her spa day 🐾🛁. She was so well behaved for her first time in the salon. I enjoyed all the cuddles! Look forward to seeing her in a few months time. 😀 G###

Yesterday I had gorgeous Bailey in for his first haircut. He is a lovely boy. He was very well behaved for his first time ever being at the groomers. Looking forward to him coming back for his next appointment.

First day back today after lockdown! I had two lovely dogs in. Unfortunately I didn’t get any before and after photos of my first handsome hound Chewie, he was a lovely boy and so well behaved for only his 2nd groom with me.
I did get pictures of beautiful Orla. Love how she is smiling in the after photo 😀.

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well and staying safe.

I have a little update on how I plan to move forward once we can get back to work.

We have been closed since the start of lockdown on 24th March and at the moment it is running till the 28th May.
During this period of time I had to cancel all my appointments.

We have been informed today that when we return to work, we can have 2 groomers in the salon at the same time.
As long as we can keep to the social distancing rules, I think this is achievable.

When we return to work, I intend to start with the appointments that were cancelled at the beginning of lockdown and work through my list.
Once we know when we can reopen I will be in contact with each client and arrange a new appointment. 🙂

Following advice from Scotland’s First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon.. the lockdown period has been extended by 3 weeks, taking the next review date to 28th May 2020..

Unless there is a relax in the lockdown between now and the 28th May CHH will REMAIN CLOSED...

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but we strongly feel it is the correct decision for everyone’s safety..

Please try your best to maintain grooming your handsome hound at home and if you feel you can not wait for us to reopen, there are Mobile groomers that have returned back to work and may be able to give you an appointment..but please understand the mobile groomers will have their clients to deal with first.

Dog groomers standing together for the NHS.

This salon is proud to be one of thousands of grooming businesses following the government and industry guidelines, closing to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus

These are difficult times and much as we would like to be open, we must do what we can to protect our clients and protect the NHS.

We miss our clients and understand that they will be getting hairier, and being closed will have a huge impact on our small business but the health and safety of humans must come first!

Dog grooming is not an essential service and all salons, including home salons and mobile vans have been recommended to close to limit the spread of the virus, though we are aware some are still trying to work it is not worth the risk to have your dog groomed. Frontline workers are putting their lives and their families lives at risk to keep us safe.

Please Stay at home

-Only go outside for food, health reasons or work (if you are a key worker)

-If you go out, stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people at ALL times

-Do not meet others, even friends or family. You can spread the virus even if you don’t have symptoms.

Rest assured that we will be doing all we can once we reopen to get everyones grooms caught up. Please stay home, protect yourself protect your loved ones and protect the NHS.

✂️ FOR ALL OUR DOGGIE CLIENT OWNERS ✂️

We would like to give you some guidance on how to maintain your dogs curly/wool coat during this period of isolation whilst we can’t...

Below on Ralph the cockerpoo we have highlighted key areas that need brushing

❤️ RED ZONE: (Legs, Feet & Face) Brush daily! These are the areas most prone to matting and need daily attention with a slicker brush and a comb.

💙 BLUE ZONE: (Tail & Head) Brush every couple/ few days with slicker brush and comb.

💚 GREEN ZONE: (Body) Less prone to matting but still brush every couple/ few days. Brush with slicker brush and comb.

DO NOT apply too much pressure with you’re slicker as the skin may become sore. The comb must smoothly glide from the root to the end of the hair to achieve a knot-free coat!

Remember matts in the coat are uncomfortable for your fur-babies and we want to help you prevent this so that when you return to us we can give you the style of groom you prefer 🐩

We'll do our best to schedule appointments on the other side of this once we know when that is 🤔

Despite the current mayhem due to Corona Virus 🦠 CHH is open 🙌 and fulfilling all our pre-booked appointments as usual.

We plan to continue doing so until such times as Boris 👨‍🦲 advises us otherwise.

🎯 To help us navigate the uncertainty of the coming days/weeks, please let us know as soon as possible if you need to cancel or rearrange any appointments.

😷 We can do an easy handover of pooches in the salon whilst confirming to social distancing recommendations. All we ask is that you knock on the salon door before entering, indicate you'd like to 'drop off' your handsome hound (so we can remain in the salon rather than coming out front to greet you as we usually would) then when you have a thumbs up from us 👍 you can bring your gorgeous boy/girl in and hook their lead on the gate for us to collect once you go. The reverse will happen on pick up. Happy to offer payment by bank transfer so there's no need for contact with change 💰💷 or our card machines 💳

🧼 Even before the current situation we always disinfect equipment, surfaces and our hands throughout the day/ between every dog. We now also include the front door/ door handles etc. in this process.

☎️ Please note that if you ring the salon it's unlikely we'll be able to take the call as we are most likely pampering someone else's precious pooch! So please leave a message and we'll ring you back when we can.
